Recently, HQIS hosted a friendly basketball match against Shanghai Yanan Middle School. The game was filled with excitement, sportsmanship, and friendly competition. The game itself was a closely fought contest, and our junior basketball team showcased incredible talent. The match remained balanced throughout, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats as points were exchanged back and forth. Players from both sides demonstrated great determination, making it an unforgettable event for everyone involved.

We did a great job, especially since it was our first game. Everyone exceeded my expectations. I was confident going into the game, and I believe that helped me perform well. I'm sure we’ll win the next match after training and learning from each other, and I will ‘cook’ them again.

It was our first game together, I enjoyed playing with my new teammates. We played as team, everyone showed their best. It was a nice starting point, even though we lost, the score was close. We just need more practice to improve our basic skills. I also want to thank everyone who supported us, especially our coach, he put big effort into the team to make us improve.

I think this is a good game for us to communicate and get to know our teammates better. I think they are a decent team, but we try our best to defeat them. I want to thank my coach Kobe, he teaches us many useful strategies for playing a real match tirelessly, and he encouraged us even when our score were lower than them.

In their first ever official basketball match against Yan’an School, the Hongqiao International Middle School team showcased exceptional basketball skills right from the tip-off to end of the last quarter. They demonstrated impressive teamwork and coordination, executing their offensive and defensive strategies with precision. Players moved fluidly, creating open shots, and were relentless applying pressure on the opponent and forcing turnovers. Despite their strong performance, the team faced tough competition and struggled to gain the lead in the final minutes. Although, they ultimately lost but players gave it their all, playing with heart and resilience leaving a lasting impression on the spectators and the school as a whole.
