Position Title: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Location: French-Speaking African Country

Position Overview

As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a mining company operating in Africa, you will play a critical role in overseeing and driving the strategic direction and operational success. 

Your mission is to lead the company in executing its business strategy, ensuring the project’s growth and sustainability while upholding the highest standards of corporate governance and community relations. 

You will be responsible for establishing a robust operational framework, managing stakeholder relationships, and fostering a high-performance culture within the team.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute the strategic development plan for the mining company, aligning with the overall corporate strategy of the group.
Drive the achievement of operational goals and financial targets, ensuring alignment with mid and long-term business objectives.
Oversee the operations of the mine, including production, safety, environmental compliance, and efficiency.
Implement best practices in mining operations to optimize productivity and profitability.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain strong relationships with local government authorities, community leaders, and other key stakeholders.
Manage public relations efforts to enhance the company’s image and mitigate any potential issues or conflicts.
Team Building and Leadership:
Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing management team to execute the company’s objectives effectively.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting a culture of diversity, equity, and high performance.
Financial Oversight:
Oversee the preparation and management of budgets, financial forecasts, and investment plans.
Ensure the financial health of the company by monitoring performance metrics and implementing cost-control measures.
Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure adherence to all local and international regulations, including environmental, health, and safety standards.
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard the project and company interests.
Corporate Image and CSR:
Enhance the company’s reputation through effective corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and community engagement.
Promote the company’s values and commitment to sustainable development and ethical practices.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Mineral Processing, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in senior management roles within the mining industry, with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects.

At least 3 years of international experience, with a strong preference for experience in Africa.

Skills and Competencies:

Strategic Vision: Ability to formulate and implement strategic plans that drive growth and achieve organizational goals.

Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills with the capacity to motivate and guide a diverse team towards achieving business objectives.

Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and investment strategies.

Cultural Sensitivity: Ability to navigate and respect diverse cultural contexts, especially in an African setting.

Adaptability:

Willingness and ability to work in Africa

Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic and evolving nature of the mining industry.

职位要求

学历:采矿工程、地质学、矿物加工、工商管理或相关领域的学士学位;优先考虑硕士学位或MBA。

经验:

至少10年矿业行业高级管理经验,具有管理大规模项目的成功记录。

至少3年的国际经验,尤其是有在非洲工作经验者优先。

技能与能力:
