At BIBS Kunming, we believe that reading is the gateway to knowledge, creativity, and lifelong learning. That's why we are thrilled by the return of our Millionaire Club ASA. This exciting initiative encourages students to immerse themselves in the world of books with the ultimate goal of reading one million words!

百万富翁俱乐部向所有小学阶段的学生开放，不仅培养孩子们的阅读毅力，也培养孩子们对文学作品的热爱。无论是沉浸在险象环生的冒险小说作品中，还是探索在信息丰富的科普类作品中，又或者是陶醉在光怪陆离的科幻类作品，阅读中的每一个单词都将会是孩子们成为“百万富翁”的基石！
The Millionaire Club is open to students from all PYP grades and serves as a great way to build not only reading stamina but also a love for literature. Whether students are diving into adventurous novels, exploring informative non-fiction, or discovering new worlds through fantasy, every word counts toward their million!

What makes The Millionaire Club unique
百万阅读俱乐部的独特魅力
百万阅读俱乐部不仅涉及独立阅读，还涉及有指导的学习。作为青苗课外课的一部分，俱乐部成员按年级分组，设置了专门的阅读导师进行“有指导阅读课”，旨在给予孩子们阅读支持的同时也加强孩子们的阅读理解能力。
The club isn’t just about independent reading; it’s also about guided learning. As part of our after-school activities (ASA), club members are grouped by grade level and attend Guided Reading Sessions led by our dedicated teachers. These sessions are designed to support and engage students while strengthening their reading and comprehension skills.

在“有指导阅读课”中，孩子们共同探索主题、人物和文字中的更深层次含义，使阅读充满趣味性与互动性。阅读导师为每个小组提供量身定制的阅读方案并帮助孩子们解锁更具挑战性的读本，展开辩证思维讨论。这样的方法不仅可以增强孩子们的理解分析能力，也培养Ta们对故事产生共鸣从而收获热爱。
During these sessions, students work together to explore themes, characters, and the deeper meaning of texts, making reading more interactive and fun. The teachers provide tailored guidance to each group, helping students tackle more challenging texts and encouraging thoughtful discussions. This approach not only enhances their ability to understand and analyse what they read but also fosters a shared love for stories.

随着孩子们不断地阅读书籍，单词量也自然在与日俱增，Ta们也将在这一过程中获得里程碑式的认可。百万阅读俱乐部将为取得进步的每一位孩子们举行小型的庆祝活动。而当Ta们达到一百万单词的最终目标时也将获得特别认可，百万阅读俱乐部激励每一个孩子不断开启人生阅读的新篇章。
As students work their way through books and build up their word count, they’ll earn recognition for their milestones along the way. From mini celebrations for smaller achievements to a special acknowledgement when they reach the ultimate goal of one million words, The Millionaire Club motivates students to keep turning the pages.

如何成为百万阅读俱乐部的一员
成为百万阅读俱乐部的成员其实是容易的。无论孩子们是狂热的阅读爱好者还是刚刚开启阅读之旅的初读者，每个人都将在百万阅读俱乐部获得一席之地。鼓励孩子们探索新的文学题材，鼓励孩子们定期访问图书馆，并大胆讨论分享自己正在阅读的故事。记住，把每一个阅读过的单词汇总在一起！
Encouraging your child to participate in The Millionaire Club is easy. Whether they're avid readers or just starting their reading journey, there's a place for everyone. Encourage them to explore new genres, visit the library regularly, and talk about the stories they're reading. Remember, every word adds up!
