时间让我们能够对自己进行规划,从而更好地了解世界。衡量时间的流逝,衡量时间是如何变化的,我们通过时间联系在一起,了解时间的历史,更了解存在在时间中的我们。这是三年级孩子们目前正在进行的探究主题——关于时间,关于生命,关于自我。
Time allows us to plan ourselves so that we can better understand the world. By measuring the passage of time, by measuring how time has changed, we are connected through time, we understand the history of time, and we know more about who we are in time. This is the topic of inquiry that the third graders are currently engaged in - about time, about life, about self.

身处生物多样性汇聚之地——云南的我们,本次三年级户外探究就前往了澄江化石地世界自然遗产博物馆,一个集收藏、研究、展示、教育为一体的大型自然博物馆,以寒武纪生命大爆发为主题,以各个地质时期的动物化石标本为元素,诠释了生命起源、生命演化和生物多样性等内容,与当前三年级所处在的探究单元完美契合。
Living in Yunnan, where biodiversity gathers, we went to the Chengjiang Fossil World Natural Heritage Museum, a large-scale natural museum with collection, research, display and education, with the Cambrian life explosion as the theme and animal fossil specimens of various geological periods as the elements. It interprets the origin of life, evolution of life and biodiversity, which is perfectly in line with the current exploration unit in PYP3.

了解生命大爆发
澄江化石及其在生命史上的重要地位。澄江发现的“昆明鱼”化石是迄今为止发现最早的脊椎动物,澄江化石是现生动物的演化树之根,之后这棵树才开枝散叶,最后演化出了生物多样性。2012年7月1日,澄江化石地申遗成功,澄江化石地是中国首个、亚洲唯一的化石类世界遗产。澄江生物群自1984年发现以来,已发现了20个门类、280余种寒武纪珍稀动植物化石,且80%属于新种,几乎所有现生动物门类的祖先都能在这里找到,被国际科学界誉为“世界级的化石宝库”。
Chengjiang fossils and their important position in the history of life. The "Kunmingfish" fossil found in Chengjiang is the earliest vertebrate found so far, and the Chengjiang fossil is the root of the evolutionary tree of living animals, before the tree blossomed, and finally evolved into biodiversity. On July 1, 2012, Chengjiang Fossil Land was successfully listed as a World Heritage site. It is the first fossil World Heritage site in China and the only one in Asia. Since the discovery of Chengjiang Biota in 1984, more than 280 species of rare Cambrian animal and plant fossils have been found in 20 categories, and 80% belong to new species, and the ancestors of almost all existing animal categories can be found here, which is praised as a "world-class fossil treasure house" by the international scientific community.
