Protecting the Asian elephant is not only protecting this only species, but alsoprotecting the entire ecosystem with abundant flora and fauna. How do we perceive theconflicts arising from the coexistence of humans and wildlife, and how can we protectthe Asian elephant and its surrounding environment? In this trip, Students of PYP5&MYP1 will ——

Business can be a vehicle for social change
As early as the beginning of May, the Year 5 students had a business plan presentation in the inquiry module and executed their first business plan in the school coffee bar.

In this outdoor exploration, we went into the homes of local villagers. In addition to asking about Asian elephants, we also asked the villagers about their income. In fact, nature and commerce both conflict and coexist, and the good protection of ecological nature can also bring some income from tourism to local villagers.

What factors contribute to the fairness and equality of society
By a week-long experiential education field trip to explore wild elephant habitat and human development in the rainforest. During this field trip, students directly observed and studied the intricate balance between environmental conservation efforts and local community development in the rainforest. They investigated how factors such as land use policies, economic opportunities, cultural traditions, and conservation efforts contribute to the fairness and sustainable development of societies living alongside wild elephant populations.

Through guided observations, interactions with local communities, and expert-led discussions, students gained insights into the complexities of balancing human needs with environmental conservation goals. They analyzed case studies of successful and challenging initiatives, examining the impacts on both wild elephant habitat and human well-being. This hands-on experience deepened their understanding of the unit's key concepts andfostered critical thinking about global issues related to fairness, development, and environmental awareness.
By connecting classroom learning with real-world experiences in the rainforest, this field trip has empowered students to apply their knowledge of societal factors to real-life situations, preparing them to become informed and responsible global citizens committed to promoting fairness and sustainability in diverse societies.
