MYP STEM FAIR


STEM STATION 1

 学生会-意大利面塔 

没有成为盘中餐的意大利面硬而脆,易折断。考虑到塔的稳定性与材料的有限性,学生们运用着自己对于塔构造的知识,在搭建的过程中,集思广益解决着所面临的困难。

Pasta that doesn't make it to the plate is hard and brittle and breaks easily. Considering the stability of the tower and the limited materials, the students used their knowledge of the tower construction to brainstorm solutions to the difficulties they faced during the construction process.


STEM STATION 2

 科学组- 达芬奇桥 

达芬奇桥不需要粘合剂和钉子等,只利用了2个要素即摩擦力和重力。在一次次的搭建过程中,学生们体验着来自力之间的相互制约,相互平衡!

The Da Vinci Bridge does not require adhesives and nails, and only uses two elements, namely friction and gravity. In the process of building again and again, students experience the mutual restriction and balance between forces!

STEM STATION 3

生物组

 生物学实验设计与方法 

 样方法测种群多样性

明白了科学实验报告的撰写步骤与规则,把书本中所学的实验方法具体化,并最终能够创新的提出实验设计新思路。

I understood the procedures and rules for writing scientific experiment reports, concretized the experimental methods learned in the books, and finally put forward innovative new ideas for experimental design.

STEM STATION 4

 化学组- pH值测试 

通过pH值测试,让低年级的学生能够直观地理解酸性和碱性的基本概念。pH值低于7表示酸性,高于7表示碱性,等于7表示中性。另外,Ta们还可以了解到pH值在日常生活中的应用,例如食物、饮料、土壤、池塘水质等的酸碱性。更重要的是,通过实际操作测试pH值,让高年级同学养成实践获得成果的习惯!

Through the pH test, the younger students can intuitively understand the basic concepts of acidity and alkalinity. A pH below 7 is acidic, a pH above 7 is alkaline, and a pH equal to 7 is neutral. In addition, they can also learn about the application of pH value in daily life, such as the acidity and alkalinity of food, beverages, soil, pond water quality, etc. More importantly, the pH value is tested by practical operation, so that senior students can develop the habit of getting results in practice!

STEM STATION 5

 物理组- 范德格拉夫发电机 

站在绝缘的椅子上,用手按着起电机的球形金属罩。由于人的身体也可导电,所以当起电机启动时,电荷便传到我们的身体上,而因为头发上的电荷互相排斥,便形成了“爆炸头”。但可别小看它,它可不只是会做发型,大型的范德格拉夫起电机球形罩上的电荷能产生超过一千万伏特的电压。在核物理实验中,如此高的电压可用来加速各种带电粒子,如质子、电子等,也算是孩子们未来打算进阶核物理的初体验了!

MYP3 Stephaine Su 



我发现在意大利面塔活动中,其实最重要的能力是团队合作。我看到许多团队因为队友之间的争论而放弃。相反,合作得很好的团队建造了非常高的塔。

I noticed that the most important ability of this competition is teamwork. I saw many teams that gave up because of arguments between teammates. On the contrary, the teams that collaborated well built very tall towers.

MYP5 Stephaine Li 



STEM FAIR让我感受到了与他人合作完成一个项目的乐趣。虽然这个过程真的很累,但当我与他人分享我的知识时,我也可以回顾我以前学过的旧知识。

STEM FAIR made me feel the fun of working with others to accomplish a project. Although this process is really tired , but while I was sharing my knowledge to others, I can also review the old knowledge I have learned before.

这次我们做得活动是生态学里的样方,用不同颜色的糖果代表了不同的物种,通过随机抽取横纵坐标划分地区让每个小组一起统计生物数量。


通过和成员的默契配合,我们克服了种种困难,最终活动很受欢迎。在合作中,我不仅提升了自己的沟通能力,也明白了只有将理论与实践相结合,才能把知识理解透彻。

The activity we did this time was a quadrate in ecology, using candies of different colors to represent different species, and dividing regions by randomly drawing horizontal and vertical coordinates so that each group could count the number of organisms together.


Through the tacit cooperation with the members, we overcame all kinds of difficulties and finally the activity was very popular. In the cooperation, I not only improved my communication ability, but also understood that only by combining theory with practice can I understand knowledge thoroughly.
