This poem is full of vitality and courage, reflecting the heroic spirit and patriotism of the people of Qin, who value military prowess and bravery. It depicts the soldiers who prioritize the overall situation when facing a major enemy under the city wall. When they hear the emperor’s order to fight, they rush to the front line to jointly kill the enemy. At the beginning of each part, a question and answer style syntax is used, with a sentence “Are you not battle-drest?” The blaming, questioning sentence is filled with uncontrollable anger and indignation, as if igniting a fire in people's vengeful hearts. As a result, countless soldiers respond in unison: "Let's share the plate for breast!" "Let's share the coat and vest!" "Let's share the kilt and the rest!" This expresses the unity and friendship among the soldiers. The language of this poem is action-oriented. "Let's make our lances shine!""Let's make our halberds shine!" and "Let's make our armour shine!" which reminds people of the enthusiastic scenes of soldiers sharpening their weapons, dancing and wielding halberds. Such poetic lines can be sung or danced to, which touch the heart and soul.

全诗风格矫健爽朗，采用了重章叠唱的形式，相同的句式重复一遍，有回环往复、一唱三叹、回肠荡气之妙。诵读此诗，不禁为诗中火一般燃烧的激情所感染，那种崇高无私的品质和慷慨激昂的英雄主义气概令人心驰神往。
