Asia’s richest man Mukesh Ambani is set to enter Africa with a telecoms venture, seeking to win mobile broadband customers in a high-growth market.

Radisys Corp, a unit of Ambani-controlled Reliance Industries Ltd, will provide key network infrastructure, applications and smartphones for Ghana-based Next-Gen InfraCo., according to Harkirit Singh, the executive director of NGIC.He described the plans ahead of NGIC’s launch announcement on Monday in Mumbai, India’s financial hub.

NGIC, which is planning to begin operations by the end of this year, will provide 5G broadband services to mobile operators and internet services providers in Ghana.

NEW DELHI: Thirteen Indians, who were lured into illegal work in Laos, have been rescued and are being sent back home, the Indian embassy in the Southeast Asian country said on Sunday. Last month, 17 Indian workers were rescued in Laos and were repatriated to India.

"So far, Embassy has rescued 428 Indians from Lao PDR. We thank Lao authorities for their cooperation," it said.

Hyundai Motor Co has also picked investment banks Kotak Mahindra Capital and Morgan Stanley as its advisors for initial public offering of its arm Hyundai Motor India Limited on the domestic bourses, a report said. These banks are in addition to Citi, JP Morgan and HSBC Securities which had been engaged previously for the public issue.

The company targets to file the draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) for the Hyundai Motor India IPO with capital markets regulator Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI) by June-end or by July, Moneycontrol reported quoting sources.

NEW DELHI: North Korea on Monday said the launch of its new military reconnaissance satellite failed as the engine exploded in flight.

The attempt came just hours after Pyongyang issued a warning that it would try to launch a satellite by June 4, in what would have been its second spy satellite in orbit.

"The launch of the new satellite carrier rocket failed when it exploded in mid-air during the flight of the first stage," the deputy director general of North Korea's National Aerospace Technology Administration said in a report carried by state media.

At least 27 people have died in a “massive fire” at a games arcade in India, local officials say.

Flames and a huge pall of smoke could be seen rising into the sky at the building in Rajkot, in the western state of Gujarat.

The blaze broke out on Saturday afternoon when the arcade was packed with children and young people. It has been brought under control, authorities say.
