Donald Trump will face sentencing over his New York “hush money” conviction on Friday, after the US Supreme Court declined to grant him a last-minute reprieve.
在美国最高法院拒绝给予唐纳德•特朗普最后一刻的缓刑后,他将于周五就其纽约“封口费”案的定罪接受宣判。


The decision will force the president-elect to face public proceedings in the criminal case that he has fought strenuously to avoid. His lawyers had appealed to the high court on Wednesday to postpone the proceeding, claiming that allowing it to go ahead days before his inauguration would create a “constitutionally intolerable risk of disruption to national security” and interfere with his efforts to get his 34 felony convictions overturned.

In an 5-4 decision handed down just hours before the sentencing was set to go ahead in a state court in lower Manhattan, a majority of the justices declined to do so, saying “the burden that sentencing will impose on the president-elect’s responsibilities is relatively insubstantial” especially as Trump was unlikely to face any prison time.

在曼哈顿下城的州法院判决即将进行的几个小时前,最高法院以5比4的决定拒绝了这一请求。多数法官表示,“判决对当选总统的责任所造成的负担相对不大”,尤其是因为特朗普不太可能面临任何监禁。

Seven&i利润大幅下滑,
收购压力倍增

Seven & i Holdings reported a sharp drop in profits in its latest quarter, missing analyst estimates and piling more pressure on the convenience store giant as it tries to fend off a $47bn buyout offer from Canada’s Alimentation Couche-Tard.

Seven&i Holdings报告,最近一个季度的利润大幅下降,低于分析师的预期,并给这家便利店巨头带来了更大的压力。此际,该公司正试图抵御加拿大公司Alimentation Couche Tard 470亿美元的收购要约。


The Japan-based owner of the 7-Eleven brand said on Thursday that operating profit came in at ¥128.4bn ($810mn) in its third quarter to the end of November, a drop of 24 per cent from the same period the previous year. It also missed analyst expectations of ¥138bn, according to LSEG data.

这家总部位于日本的7-Eleven品牌所有者周四表示,截至11月底的第三季度营业利润为1284亿日元(合8.1亿美元),比上年同期下降了24%。根据LSEG的数据,其利润也低于分析师预期的1380亿日元。



The results come as Seven & i battles to prove to investors it is more valuable as a standalone business after Couche-Tard proposed what would be Japan’s biggest corporate takeover. The offer sent the company rushing to squeeze more value from its core convenience store network.

BlackRock has become the latest financial firm to bail out of a big climate change industry group in the wake of Donald Trump’s election as US president and heightened regulatory scrutiny.
在唐纳德•特朗普(Donald Trump)当选美国总统以及监管审查加强之后,贝莱德(BlackRock)成为最新一家退出大型气候变化行业组织的金融公司。


The world’s largest money manager told institutional clients in a letter on Thursday that it had quit Net Zero Asset Managers, a voluntary global group that describes itself as committed to “the goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 or sooner”.
全球最大的资产管理公司贝莱德在周四的一封信中告知机构客户,其已退出净零排放资产管理者联盟(Net Zero Asset Managers)。该联盟是一个全球自愿组织,声称致力于“到2050年或更早实现温室气体净零排放目标”。


Membership in NZAM had “caused confusion regarding BlackRock’s practices and subjected us to legal inquiries from various public officials”, vice-chair Philipp Hildebrand wrote, according to a copy of the letter seen by the Financial Times.

大众电动汽车交付量去年下降

Volkswagen’s flagship brand delivered fewer electric vehicles last year amid greater competition with rivals in China, putting Europe’s largest carmaker under pressure to hit the continent’s tougher emissions rules.   

在中国竞争对手加大竞争力度的背景下,大众(Volkswagen)旗舰品牌去年交付的电动汽车数量减少,使欧洲最大汽车制造商在达到欧洲更严格排放规则要求方面承压。


The VW brand delivered 383,100 all-electric vehicles in 2024 compared with about 394,000 in 2023 — a 2.8 per cent fall. Globally, it delivered 4.8mn vehicles, down 1.4 per cent as those in China fell 8.3 per cent. Group-wide figures are expected to be released next week. 
大众品牌在2024年交付38.31万辆全电动汽车,比2023年的39.4万辆减少2.8%。全球而言,大众交付了480万辆汽车,下降1.4%,其中中国市场的交付量下降8.3%。预计集团数据将于下周公布。


“Around the globe, 2024 was a difficult year with sluggish economic activity, political challenges and intense competition, particularly in China,” Martin Sander, who leads sales, marketing and aftersales at VW’s passenger car business, said in a statement on Thursday.
