That waiting and wondering game may finally be nearing an end, with news that Honor was transformed into a joint-stock limited company at the very end of last year, on Dec. 28 to be precise. With that critical step, the company formally changed its name to Honor Device Co. Ltd., according to an announcement on its website. Such shareholding reform is a necessary step before an IPO, and can often signal that one is coming soon.
近日此事总算有眉目,荣耀在官网公告,荣耀终端有限公司已于2024年12月28日依法整体变更为股份有限公司,公司名称变更为“荣耀终端股份有限公司”。股份制改革完成后,将适时启动上市程序。
It typically involves restructuring a company’s business, governance structure and finances and other elements, with the end result that the entity is organized as a joint stock company. The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) mandates that any company issuing public shares to raise funds must be organized as a joint stock company first, and thus shareholding reform is a necessary step for companies to go public.
股份制改革是指企业透过对业务、治理结构、财务等方面的重组,把组织形式变更为“股份有限公司”的过程。根据证监会规定,采取公开发行股票方式进行融资的企业,必须具备“股份有限公司”的组织形式,因此股改也是上市前的必经过程。

Last month, my car went into the shop for its third software-related recall in six months. Once again the friendly guys at the dealership were unable to install the necessary update on their own. Instead our now-undriveable SUV sat on their lot, awaiting its turn with experts at BMW headquarters. The queue took four days.

That delay was both painful and pointless. Automakers learned long ago to have the necessary parts and labour on hand before calling in a vehicle for a physical recall. Surely a company that claims to have 9mn fully upgradeable cars on the road already can set up an equivalent process for software.

Energy Monster is the latest victim of China’s “consumption downgrade,” which has seen consumers increasingly rein in their spending in a climate of growing economic uncertainty. The downgrade began last year at the top of the retailing food chain, as sellers of big-ticket items like cars and smartphones started to notice shrinking sales. From there it has gradually moved into cheaper, more everyday purchases like clothing and coffee.

Almost a quarter of main freshwater species including fish, shrimps and crabs are threatened with extinction, worldwide research involving thousands of experts has found.
一项涉及数千名专家的全球研究发现,近四分之一的主要淡水物种,包括鱼类、虾类和蟹类,面临灭绝的威胁。
The study examined more than 23,000 animals on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) “red list” of threatened species, which was published in the Nature journal. It uses public data sources and about two decades of work by more than 1,000 scientists, including taxonomists and those working directly with species in their environments.
