我国出台城市公共交通管理条例

Chinese Premier Li Qiang has signed a decree of the State Council, issuing a set of regulations on public transportation in cities.

China aims to build a safe, convenient, efficient, green and economical public transportation system in cities, according to the regulations, which will take effect on Dec 1 of this year.

The regulations stipulate that municipal governments are responsible for developing public transportation.

The document, consisting of six chapters and 55 articles, also demands efforts to enhance public transportation services and ensure safety.

China to formulate action plan for manufacturing industry's green, low-carbon development

我国将制定制造业绿色低碳发展行动计划

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) will formulate an action plan for green and low-carbon development of the manufacturing industry, a spokesperson said Wednesday.

The move aims to promote comprehensive green transformation in economic and social development, Tao Qing, spokesperson of the MIIT, told a press conference held by the State Council Information Office.

The MIIT will also continue to promote research, development, innovation and industrialization of key technologies in the fields of integrated circuits, industrial software, artificial intelligence and satellite internet, and cultivate and develop emerging industries and future-oriented industries, said Tao.

The ministry will expedite the cultivation of leading enterprises in the industrial ecosystem and improve the whole-cycle cultivation system for small and medium-sized enterprises that feature specialization, refinement, uniqueness and innovation.

The spokesperson also highlighted establishing a national system for nurturing unicorn enterprises -- and nurturing a group of quality enterprises specializing in digital economy.

Zhao Zhiguo, the MIIT's chief engineer, said at the same press conference that the ministry will cultivate and promote the low-altitude economy, accelerating the development of low-altitude logistics, urban and intercity air transportation, and the low-altitude cultural and tourism industries.

我国启动新一批第三轮环保督查

A new batch of the third round of central environmental inspections has been officially launched, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment announced on Friday.

Eight ecological and environmental protection inspection teams have been formed to conduct month-long inspections in provinces of Jiangsu, Anhui, Sichuan, and Guizhou.

Four major central enterprises, namely China National Petroleum Corporation, China Petrochemical Corporation, China National Chemical Corporation, and China National Chemical Engineering Group Corporation, will also be inspected.

During the inspection period, each team will set up phone lines and postal addresses to receive public reports and complaints regarding environmental protection issues related to the inspected provinces and enterprises, the ministry said.

The third round of central environmental inspections was launched in November last year. The previous batch started in May and inspected seven cities and provinces nationwide.
