mention可以做动词和名词。
名词mention可以可数，也可以不可数。
媒体上提及的次数是知名度的重要指标，多次提及可以用mentions, 如
【例句1】The hashtag is getting an average of seven million mentions a day on the site. (此标签在网站上平均每天被提及700万次。)[剑桥高级学者辞典]
【例句2】Tracking brand mentions can lead to a clearer understanding of how others interact with your brand's products or services. （跟踪品牌提及次数可以更清楚地了解他人如何与您的品牌产品或服务互动的情况。） [剑桥高级学者辞典]

a mention也经常见到，如
【例句4】At the awards ceremony, Chrissie Scott got/received a special mention for her reporting on the conflict. （在颁奖典礼上，克丽丝·斯科特因对冲突的报道而获得特别表彰。）[剑桥高级学者辞典]

上述的a mention表达“一个提及实例”。这里加不定件词的目的应该不是“否定两个、三个提及”，而是强化“提及”的事件感，从而增强具象感。因为没有件词的mention侧重其抽象。
下面否定例句中的a mention更接近any mention,
【例句8】The concert didn't even get a mention in the newspapers. （这场音乐会甚至没有在报纸上被提及。）[牛津高级学者辞典]
【例句9】The story didn't even get a mention in the newspaper.（这个故事甚至没有在报纸上被提及。） [剑桥高级学者辞典]
the mention of 多被词典标为“仅单数名词”，例句如

若强调性质，即抑制“事件感”，那么不用件词，如
