In the heart of Antwerp, the M HKA museum is set to host a captivating and one-of-a-kind event that will bring together canine companions and their human partners. On September 1, 2024, the museum's rooftop terrace will become the stage for "Music for Dogs and their Owners," a special dog-friendly concert curated by the renowned artist Gaspar Cohen.

This unique event is part of the museum's ongoing exhibition, "The Lives of Animals," which explores the theme of animal welfare and protection. To ensure the comfort and safety of all participants, dogs must be leashed and collared, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

这场演出的灵感来自美国哲学家唐娜·哈拉维的《伴侣动物宣言 Companion Species Manifesto》以及对狗的听觉能力的科学研究，旨在迎合我们四条腿的朋友独特的感知模式和声音偏好。

Inspired by American philosopher Donna J. Haraway's "Companion Species Manifesto" and scientific studies on dogs' auditory capabilities, this performance aims to create a harmonious experience that caters to the unique perceptual modes and sound preferences of our four-legged friends.
The concert, which lasts approximately an hour, will feature a carefully curated selection of melodies designed to capture the attention and soothe the senses of the canine audience. "It turns out, for example, that dogs have a very different ability to concentrate," explains M HKA project leader Lode Geens. Tailor made dog music! Wow!
