Ambassador Bruno Angelet gave a speech about the constructive dialogue between Belgium and China – marked by high-level visits in both ways during the last year – and the importance of the multilateral system to ensure peace and a safe future for all. He ended his speech with a solemn moment of homage to the children victims of conflicts in the world, on the music of Belgian composer César Franck. Mr. Angelet was then joined on stage for a toast by Mr. Li Jian, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs of the Foreign Ministry of China, Mr. Mattias Lentz, Deputy Head of the European Delegation to China and Mr. Sid Chatterjee, Resident Coordinator of the UN in Beijing.
The reception ended on the dancefloor in the beats of electronic music, finishing to transport our guests in a Belgian atmosphere for one night!
