11月7日,北京王府实验学校小学PYP融合部五年级的学生迎来又一次探究实践活动。他们前往北京交通大学参观学习,进一步探究有关能量的奥秘。

此次实践参观是“世界如何运作”这一探究单元学习的延展,旨在引导学生理解能量的传输与转化,以及是如何推动人类社会的发展与进步的。


在交通大学专家的带领下,在首批国家物理实验教学示范中心的物理演示与探索实验室里,学生们通过互动展览和操作演示,探索了各种能量的奥秘。


他们了解了打字机和计算器的演变过程,探索了这些设备背后的机械原理,学习到机械创新是如何为现代技术奠定基础的。通过多种静电实验,同学们还亲眼观察了吸引力和排斥力的作用,亲自体验了静电现象。在探索实验室里,同学们使用热成像相机与光能互动,学习了光在不同环境中的表现特征,也研究了电流对磁力的影响,探索了磁能在日常技术中的应用。


此次研学活动的宗旨与联合国可持续发展目标第7条“经济适用与清洁能源”相契合。同学们感受到了科学之美,对他们来讲,是一次难忘且影响深远的学习经历。他们了解了能量是如何助力人类进步并改善人们的生活,加深了对课堂中所学概念的理解,也激发了对未来如何高效利用能量的探索兴趣。

此次参观学习也体现了探究性学习的目标,激励学生将课堂知识与现实生活、实际应用相结合,知行合一。

On November 7, Grade 5 students from Beijing Royal Experimental School’s PYP department had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of energy during an immersive learning excursion to Beijing Jiaotong  University. The visit was a key component of their current Unit of Inquiry, How the World Works, which centers on the central idea: “Energy may be transferred, transformed, and used to support human progress.”


Guided by university experts, students were introduced to a wide range of energy concepts through interactive exhibits and demonstrations. Highlights included:

Mechanical Energy: Students examined the evolution of typewriters and calculators, discovering the mechanics behind these historical devices and learning how mechanical innovations have paved the way for modern technology.

Static Electricity: Students conducted various static electrical energy experiments, observing firsthand the principles of attraction and repulsion in action.


Light Energy: In dark-room settings, students interacted with light energy through experiments involving thermal cameras, learning how light behaves in different environments.

Magnetic Energy: By investigating the effects of electrical currents on magnetic forces, students explored how magnetic energy is harnessed in everyday technologies.

This enriching experience not only reinforced classroom concepts but also sparked curiosity about the future of sustainable and efficient energy use. Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 7 on affordable and clean energy, this hands-on learning activity supports our students in developing an understanding of how energy can drive progress and improve lives.
