After 5 years, the NIS Triathlon has finally returned!时隔五年,NIS学生铁人三项赛终于回归了! For the 15th time in our school’s 31-year history, NIS organised a triathlon to give our students the opportunity to discover not only this amazing endurance multisport race, but also themselves.在学校31年的历史长河中,NIS第15次成功举办了学生铁人三项赛。学生们不仅体验了这项令人惊叹的耐力多项赛,更在比赛中不断发现自我。 “Each participant, whether they competed individually or as part of a relay team pushed themselves to the absolute limit and learned how important both our physical state and mental power are to be successful in a challenging event,” said NIS Aquatics Director and triathlon organiser, Mr. Niels Loos.“每位参赛者,无论是单独作战还是作为接力队的一员,都在比赛中突破了自我极限,深刻感受到了在面对艰难赛事时,身体状态和心理素质的双重重要性,”NIS游泳馆馆长兼铁人三项赛组织者Niels Loos先生说道。 60 individual NIS triathletes and 18 relay teams from Grade 1 to 9 swam age-appropriate distances in our pool, transitioned to cycling on the outside lanes of the track, changed to running on the inside lines, and raced to the finish line in the middle of the football pitch.从1年级到9年级,60名个人选手和18支接力队伍在泳池中完成了适龄的游泳距离,随后在跑道外圈骑行,再转战内圈跑步,最终在足球场中央冲向终点。 How does my body react when I’m nervous? How fast can I put my shoes on when my feet are wet? What is the most aerodynamic position on my bike? How do I control my breathing when I need to run when my body is already tired? How do I celebrate when someone is faster than me and I wanted to win myself? Our students learned a whole lot about themselves on this epic quest.紧张时,我的身体会有何反应?湿透的双脚,需要多久才能穿上鞋子?骑行时,怎样的姿势最符合空气动力学?身体疲惫时,我该如何控制呼吸继续奔跑?在竞争中,虽然我也渴望胜利,但却被别人超越,我该如何去庆祝别人的胜利?铁人三项赛不仅仅是一项体育赛事,更是一段自我探索和成长的旅程,通过这次经历,学生们对自己的能力、性格和潜力有了更深刻的理解和认识。 “Perfect weather conditions, a magnificent team of volunteers, cold drinks, tasty hot dogs, self-baked goodies, and a cheering crowd made sure this day is one to remember,” said Mr. Loos. “Our students and our community are already looking forward to next year’s edition, and so are we.
