Cultivating Health Through Drama

文摘   2024-09-20 18:02   北京

Welcome to Cultivating Health, an opportunity to explore various topics in the context of holistic health and well-being. Each week Melissa Rodriguez, our Patient Outreach and Education Manager, will host a free online session that aims to bring greater awareness to the ways we can take our health to the next level. Each session will include self-care practices such as breathing exercises, mindfulness techniques, and meditation. You will leave the session feeling empowered, motivated, and with a sense of tranquility.

·What?·

In the month of September, we have been exploring the healing power of the arts. We have learned about visual arts, music, and our final session on Tuesday will be about drama. Many of us have experienced the positive effect of creativity, either when we do creative things ourselves, or when we are exposed to the creativity of others. Colors, arts, crafts, drama, music and dance, have the ability to stimulate our mind and at the same time bring us peace and calm.

On Tuesday, special guest Yanna Dai will join Melissa on Cultivating Health. Ms Dai is an author, artist, and art educator. She has published a series of art education books in Chinese, which have inspired parents to embrace art, bring creativity into daily life, and deepen the understanding of their children through art. She founded Yanan Art Studio, providing online art classes for adults and children, using free dance, drama, music, and visual art to help release the pressures of everyday life and negative emotions healthily.

Yanna Dai will show us how drama can offer a powerful way to step away from reality, relax, and reconnect with ourselves. Through drama games, we can find a safe space to release hidden emotions, reduce stress, and regain the ability to laugh. This process can allow us to experience and express our feelings in a unique way, helping us discover more confidence and inner calm. In this session, we will use drama activities to gently open up our senses and reconnect with our feelings, gaining energy through interacting with others.

Please prepare pen and paper for this interactive session, and come ready to participate!
