Message from Cambridge High School：New Beginnings

如果把我们的人生比作一本书，新学年就像是其中的一个新篇章—它充满了无限的可能性和机会，当然，也一定会让大家面临到一些新的挑战。但这也是一个让我们一起共同成长、学习、并取得成就的机会。

A new school year is like a fresh chapter in the book of our lives—it's filled with possibilities, opportunities, and, yes, a few challenges. But it's also a chance for all of us to grow, learn, and achieve together.

在我们开始期待这个新学年之前，我也想利用这个机会带着大家回顾我们过去的一个学年。去年，我们在各个方面取得了不同的成就——学术上的成功、运动上的胜利、艺术上的成就，最重要的是每个学生们的个人成长。

Before we dive into the excitement of the year ahead, I think it's important to take a moment to reflect on the past. Last year was filled with many accomplishments - academic successes, athletic victories, artistic achievements, and, most importantly, personal growth. 

当然我们也遇到过一些困难，但大家齐心协力，展现了你们的韧性、决心和责任感。所以我希望你们可以把这些宝贵的经验带入到新的旅程，共同前行。

We faced challenges as well, but we overcame them together, showing resilience, determination, and a strong sense of community. Let's carry those lessons forward as we embark on this new journey together.

在新的学年开始之际，我们想首先跟你们聊一聊期望——不仅是我们对你们的期望，也是你们对自己的期望。

As we begin this new year, I want to talk about expectations - both the ones I have for you and the ones you should have for yourselves. 

首先，我希望你们在做每一件事情时都要追求卓越。这并不意味着要完美无缺，而是要在课堂上、运动场上或参与学校任何活动时，要付出你们自己最大的努力。

First and foremost, l expect you to strive for excellence in everything you do. This doesn't mean perfection, but it does mean giving your best effort, whether you're in the classroom, on the field, or participating in any school activity.

另一个我想跟你们谈论的是尊重，它作为剑高的基石理念，也是我们最看重的品质。

Respect is another cornerstone of our school community.

尊重自己、尊重同学、尊重老师以及所有你遇到的人。我们的学校和剑桥国际高中应该是一个让在座的每个人都感到被重视和受到尊重的地方，而这取决于我们所有人共同努力去创造和维护这样的校园环境。

Respect for yourselves, your peers, your teachers, and everyone you encounter. Our school is a place where every individual should feel safe, valued, and respected, and it's up to all of us to create and maintain that environment.

高中生涯不仅仅只是包涵学业和成绩，我希望学生们可以积极加入学校的俱乐部、参与尝试新的运动和事务、为你关心在乎的事情做志愿者。你投入得越多，收获就会越大。

High school is about more than just academics. Join a club, try out for a team, volunteer for a cause that matters to you. The more you put into your school experience, the more you will get out of it.

新学年最令人兴奋期待的事情之一就是它带来的各种新的机会。

One of the most exciting things about a new school year is the opportunities it brings. 

也许今年，你会发现一个新的兴趣，结识一位新朋友，或学到一些改变你固化看法的新理念。我鼓励你们走出自己的舒适区，即使一开始做起来可能会比较困难，没有那么熟悉，但是请勇敢的去尝试新的事物。

Maybe this year, you'll discover a new passion, make a new friend, or learn something that changes the way you see the world. I encourage you to step outside your comfort zone. Don't be afraid to try new things, even if they seem difficult or unfamiliar.

当我们挑战自己时，我们才能真正的成长，而新学年的新开始也是你们做出挑战的最佳时机。

Growth happens when we challenge ourselves, and there's no better time to do that than now.

对于新加入剑桥国际部的学生们，你们已经是我们这个大家庭的的一部分，任何时候你都可以放心的像我们所有老师以及你的同伴寻求帮助和指导。

For those of you who are new to our school, I want to assure you that you are now part of a community that is here to support you. Don't hesitate to reach out if you need help or guidance. We're all here to learn and grow together.

谈到校园社区，我想强调的是相互支持的重要性。学校不仅仅是一个上课的地方，它还是一个建立友谊、创造回忆并为未来你们踏入大学或社会做准备的地方。

Speaking of community, I want to emphasize how important it is that we support each other. This school isn't just a place where you come to take classes; it's a place where you build relationships, make memories, and prepare for the future.

让我们共同努力，创造一个充满善意、包容性和有相互尊重文化的校园。如果你看到有人需要朋友，成为那个朋友；如果你注意到有人遇到困难，伸出援手。

Let's work together to create a culture of kindness, inclusivity, and mutual respect. It you see someone who needs a friend, be that friend. If you notice someone struggling, offer a hand.

我们团结一心彼此的力量会更大，而团结一致，我们可以一同努力让这个学年成为我们最好的一个学年。

We are stronger together, and together, we can make this school year one of our best yet.

As we look ahead, this year is full of potential. I see it in each of you, and I'm confident that we're going to achieve great things together. 

遇到不同的挑战时，我们难免会失去动力、难以坚持、意志力薄弱，没有那么自律。但是希望你们在遇到这样的时刻时，可以及时做出改变，每一天都是一个新的开始，重新调整自己的心态和自己的既定目标并再次一步步的靠近，实现你们的目标。如果你相信自己并坚持不懈，你一定会找到内心的力量，充满信心和智慧的去实现梦想，创造你想要的有意义的生活。

Yes, there will be challenges, and every once in a while we lose our motivation, persistence, willpower, and self-discipline. But that doesn’t mean that’s how it will be tomorrow. Every day is a fresh, new day with a blank slate to rewrite those goals and start achieving them again. If you believe in yourself and stay persistent, you will most definitely find the inner strength, wisdom, and confidence to achieve your dreams and create the meaningful life you want to live.

因此，我希望我们所有人能带着激情和决心迎接这一年。为自己设定好目标，并努力去实现它们。让我们共同努力，让这一学年成为难忘的一年，不仅仅是因为我们共同取得的成就，更是因为我们大家为了共同的目标凝聚在了一起；

So, let's approach this year with excitement and determination. Let's set high goals for ourselves and work diligently to achieve them. Let's make this a year to remember - not just for what we achieve, but for how we come together as a school community.
