暖心圣诞

My family and I have lived in Shanghai for 6 years, and each year, we marvel at the many wonderful options for enjoying the magical Christmas spirit in the city.

We were excited to experience a lovely staycation at the Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai to kick off this year's holiday season.

It was an enchanting experience thoughtfully designed to capture the Christmas spirit.

As an American, I was delighted by the festive details that reminded me of home. 

My German husband, Marcus, and our two sons, Simon (8) and Benedict (4), joined me for this memorable experience. 

From start to finish, every moment at the Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai was magical.

The holiday magic began the moment Benedict and I arrived at the hotel. 

The dazzling outdoor light displays greeted us with a festive charm, building anticipation for the Christmas wonderland that awaited inside. 

Since Simon was busy with after-school activities, I treated my little one to a special mother-son tea time.

Check-in was seamless, and as we stepped into our Pu Xiao Xiang Themed Room 浦小香主题亲子房, we were awestruck.

The door was beautifully decorated, setting the stage for what lay beyond.

When Benedict unlocked the door, his face lit up at the sight of the Christmas wonderland.

We felt the warm Christmas vibes from the perfectly decorated tree to the adorable snuggly Christmas stuffies (my kids LOVE stuffies!) to the fully decorated windows!

Every detail radiated warmth and holiday cheer. 

The room was cosy yet spacious—perfect for our family of four. 

Thoughtful touches, like a chocolate replica of the Shanghai skyline and kid-friendly amenities (a bathroom stool, sink extender, and a child-sized toilet seat), made it feel like home.

Reluctantly leaving our festive room, we headed to the Magical Lounge 绮幻酒廊 at River Wing Lobby 浦江楼大堂 for Christmas Afternoon Tea 绮幻下午茶.

A gorgeous Christmas tree welcomed us, and as we settled at our table, the twinkling lights outside added to the ambience.

The tea spread was both beautiful and delicious. 

Benedict wasted no time diving into the sweets while I savoured the savoury treats and freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam. 

Of course, his favourite, Olli Ella Dinkums, joined us for tea, adding a whimsical touch to the moment.

After meeting my husband and embracing German Christmas traditions, I believe no holiday experience is complete without a cosy cup of warm mulled wine. 

The lounge provided just that, making the experience all the more perfect.

Later, Marcus and Simon joined us, ready for adventure. 

Simon, our little explorer, couldn’t wait to start the Scavenger Hunt 圣诞寻宝奇遇, collecting stamps from different stations around the hotel. 

From Christmas Post Office 圣诞邮局, where kids could write letters to Santa, to the Shangri-La Airship 香格里拉飞船 filled with delicious treats and gifts, there was no shortage of excitement.

Dinner at YICAFE 怡咖啡 was the perfect way to wrap up the day.

YICAFE’s buffet catered to all tastes, from fresh seafood (Benedict loves salmon sashimi!) to international dishes like Thai, Middle Eastern, and Malaysian cuisine.

Marcus gravitated toward the Japanese stations while I indulged in various global flavours. 

The kids loved the easy access to the drink station, and we all left feeling happy and satisfied.

We went to our room full, happy and ready for a cosy sleep as the kids said goodnight to Santa.

The next morning felt like Christmas as the kids eagerly explored the room once more before breakfast at YICAFE 怡咖啡. 

The staff’s warm smiles made the experience even brighter. 

The boys loved burning off energy in the playful space, and they were thrilled to exchange their completed map for a coin to use in the giant gacha machine. 

Their prize was a delightful surprise that capped off a perfect staycation.

我和我的家人已经在上海生活了六年，每一年，我们都会惊叹于这座城市里有众多绝佳的选择，可以让人尽情感受那奇妙的圣诞氛围。

我们很兴奋能在上海浦东香格里拉体验一次愉快的 “宅度假”，以此开启今年的节日季。

那是一次精心打造、充满魅力的体验，完美地刻画了圣诞氛围。

作为一名美国人，那些充满节日氛围的细节让我想起了家乡，这使我感到十分开心。

我的德国丈夫Marcus，还有我们的两个儿子——八岁的Simon和四岁的Benedict，也一同与我分享了这次令人难忘的经历。

从始至终，在上海浦东香格里拉度过的每一刻都充满了奇妙的感觉。

假期的魔幻从Benedict和我抵达酒店的那一刻就开始了。

耀眼的户外灯光展示随着节日的魅力迎接我们，让我们对酒店内等待着我们的圣诞奇遇充满期待。

由于Simon正忙于课后活动，我决定先带着Benedict去享受一次特别的母子下午茶时光。

入住手续办理得十分顺利，当我们走进浦小香主题亲子房时，都惊叹不已。

房门本身就装饰得很漂亮，为门后的景致做了铺垫。

当Benedict打开房门时，一看到里面宛如圣诞仙境般的布置，他的脸上立刻绽放出笑容。

从装饰精美的圣诞树，到那些可爱又让人想抱抱的圣诞毛绒玩具（我的孩子们可太喜欢毛绒玩具了！），再到布置得满满当当的窗户，我们感受到了浓浓的圣诞氛围。

每一处细节都散发着温暖和节日的欢乐气息。

房间既舒适又宽敞，对我们一家四口来说堪称完美。

那些贴心的布置，比如用巧克力制作的上海天际线仿制品，以及方便儿童使用的设施（浴室脚凳、水槽延伸器和儿童尺寸的马桶座圈），让我们感觉就像在家里一样自在。

 我们依依不舍地离开充满着节日氛围的房间，前往浦江楼大堂的绮幻酒廊享用那里的奇幻圣诞下午茶。

一棵华丽的圣诞树迎接了我们，当我们在桌旁就座时，外面闪烁的灯光更是增添了氛围。

我们感觉无比惬意和开心，紧接着令人惊艳的下午茶时光就登场了。

我们的目光一直被那些美味又有创意的甜品吸引着，Benedict迫不及待地就开始大快朵颐了。

我们花了点时间把他最喜欢的玩偶们摆好，它们可不会错过和我们一起享用下午茶的机会呢。

Benedict只要手里拿着他的Olli Ella Dinkums玩偶，就忍不住捏个不停，它们可真是下午茶的绝佳伙伴呀。

等Benedict和他的玩偶们都安置好了，我便开始慢慢品尝那些美味可口的咸味点心，还有搭配了凝脂奶油和果酱的新鲜出炉的司康饼。

在与我丈夫相识并接触了德国的圣诞传统之后，我觉得要是没有一杯暖乎乎的热红酒，任何节日体验都是不完整的。

而酒店的酒廊正好提供了热红酒，这让整个体验变得更加完美了。

随后，Marcus和Simon来与我们会合，准备开启一场冒险之旅。

Simon，我们家的小小探险家，正迫不及待地想要开始圣诞寻宝奇遇活动，去酒店各处的不同站点收集印章呢。

从孩子们可以给圣诞老人写信的圣诞邮局，到装满美味零食和礼物的香格里拉飞船，到处都充满着令人兴奋不已的元素。

在怡咖啡享用晚餐是为这一天画上圆满句号的绝佳方式。

怡咖啡的自助餐迎合了各种口味，从新鲜的海鲜（Benedict很爱吃三文鱼刺身！）到国际美食，比如泰国、中东以及马来西亚菜肴应有尽有。

Marcus被现场制作的日式料理档口所吸引，而我则尽情品尝了各种各样的全球风味美食。

孩子们很喜欢能便捷地去到饮品区享用饮品，最后我们都开开心心、心满意足地离开了。

我们吃得饱饱的，心情愉悦地回到房间，准备舒舒服服地睡上一觉，这时孩子们还向圣诞老人道了晚安呢。

第二天清晨，感觉就像真的到了圣诞节一样，孩子们在去怡咖啡吃早餐前，又兴致勃勃地在房间里探索了一番。

工作人员热情的笑容让这次体验更加美好。

男孩们在这个充满童趣的空间里尽情释放活力，他们还兴奋地用完成的寻宝地图换到了一枚硬币，用来在巨型扭蛋机里使用。

他们得到的奖品是一个令人开心的惊喜，为这次完美的宅度假画上了圆满的句号。

期待下次再见，上海浦东香格里拉 —— 我们迫不及待想要再次光临！
