YCIS Shanghai Pudong are proud to celebrate the remarkable achievements of six students who recently participated in the Student Voices English Public Speaking Competition.
Felix, Nicole, Vivian, Nadya, and Evan impressed the judges with their exceptional fluency in English and their thoughtful perspectives on environmental sustainability; their ability to convey complex ideas and captivate the audience with their engaging stage presence truly set them apart.
More than just a competition, the students demonstrated a deep passion for sustainability, offering unique viewpoints on how we can all contribute to a greener future. YCIS are thrilled that their dedication and talent earned them the championship title, a well-deserved recognition of their hard work and skill.
Concordia International School Shanghai
Concordia’s Harvest Festival, held on October 20th, was a day filled with laughter, fun, and community spirit. Families from across the city gathered to experience a wide range of attractions that transformed the campus into a vibrant autumn wonderland.
Creative craft stations, face painting, and delicious food stalls added to the festive atmosphere. Kids bounced around in castles, marveled at bubble and magic shows, and played fall-themed games. Plus, in addition to spectacular musical performances, there were interactive VEX robotics demos and an impressive drone display that captivated all ages.
The event was a resounding success that celebrated the strength of the Concordia community and left everyone excited for the next celebration.
Shanghai Community International School
Each year, Shanghai Community International School (SCIS) enthusiastically celebrates the United Nations International Day of Peace, highlighting diversity and global awareness. This year’s theme, “Cultivating a Culture of Peace,” inspired a variety of engaging activities aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Parade of Nations kicked off the festivities, with students proudly showcasing their cultural heritage through colorful traditional attire and flags, each telling a unique story. Creative expression flourished as young artists collaborated on projects, transforming the halls into a gallery of hope and unity. The stage came alive with music and dance performances, reminding everyone that differences can create beauty when woven together. Inspiring speakers shared heartfelt reflections on peace, connecting personal stories to global challenges.

On the weekend of October 19, Shanghai American School’s booth at the recent Shanghai Maker Faire was buzzing with creativity and fun! Visitors of all ages tried their hands at programming robots, winning prizes, and crafting their very own wooden eagles, making them “fly” with a bit of SAS magic. Guided by our enthusiastic teachers and student volunteers, children got a hands-on experience of SAS’s STEAM programming—an educational journey where possibilities truly soar. This engaging event offered a glimpse into the innovative spirit that fuels our SAS community!
Wellington College International Shanghai
On a late September morning, Wellington College International Shanghai gathered to commemorate 10 Years of Building a Global Community. Pupils from Reception to Sixth Form, along with 400 teachers and staff, stood proudly in formation to spell out "WELLINGTON 10 上海" in an awe-inspiring aerial drone photo and video. This powerful display of unity sent a celebratory message: Wellington College International Shanghai is 10 years strong. Looking ahead, the school will be celebrating throughout the year with a packed calendar of events, like its annual International Food Festival, a 10-Year Anniversary Ball, a concert and more. Since its founding in 2014, Wellington Shanghai has been committed to providing a pioneering education to serve and help shape a better world. Here’s to the next decade!
Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong
Dulwich Pudong community came together for the much-anticipated House Fun Run on 13 October, with 1,085 participants registered for the event. This year’s run showcased the enthusiasm and camaraderie of our College community, bringing students, staff, and families together for a day of fun and fitness.
Eighty-two dedicated volunteers played a crucial role in ensuring the event ran smoothly, contributing their time and effort to make the day a success. The highlight of the morning was a two-kilometer run, where participants joyfully ‘sharing’ colour powder along the way. After the run, everyone gathered back at the field, excited to capture the moment in front of their respective house backdrops with the medal.
The smiles and laughter shared during this time created lasting memories, making the House Fun Run a truly special event for all involved. Like all our events, the House Fun Run was a celebration of community spirit and school pride, and everyone is now looking forward to the next in our calendar of upcoming events!
Shanghai French School
Shanghai French School Primary Students' Annual Open-Air Gallery In October, the Shanghai French School proudly celebrated one of its most delightful traditions: "La Grande Lessive!" This year, both campuses came alive with creativity as primary students, along with middle schoolers, participated in this enchanting event. The students worked diligently to produce vibrant drawings that were then displayed on clotheslines stretched across the schoolyard and piazza, creating a captivating open-air gallery.
This year’s theme, "Same, Not the Same," offered a playful perspective on unity in diversity. Each artwork reflected the individuality of the students while emphasizing their shared experiences and connections. The event not only showcased the artistic talents of the children but also fostered a sense of community among students of all ages. Parents and teachers were invited to stroll through the gallery, admiring the imaginative creations that adorned the lines. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement and pride, as everyone celebrated the students' creativity.
Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi
What happens when you take learning beyond the classroom? Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi Senior School students just found out – big time! From hiking the breathtaking mountains of Yunnan and Guizhou to camping under the stars at the Great Wall, this adventure was anything but ordinary. Students also embraced service opportunities, connecting with rural communities and understanding what it means to be true global citizens.
At Dulwich Puxi, they believe the best learning happens when you get your hands dirty, push your limits, and grow together. Challenge Week was exactly that – a mix of adventure, teamwork, global citizenship, and discovering just how much you’re capable of.
The British International School Shanghai, Puxi
The British International School Shanghai, Puxi (BISS), attended the annual Maker Faire at Shanghai’s Rock Bund — celebrating STEAM subjects with the international community. BISS ran a VR experience and Lego robotics hub representing the everyday lessons available to students on campus, sharing examples of the school’s unique collaboration with MIT. The Maker Faire brought many schools together as the importance of STEAM learning grows for an ever-curious new generation.
