Before the renovation, this was just an inconspicuous street corner. Through design and transformation, GRiD has transformed into an attractive "beacon", becoming a vibrant digital generation friendly “instagrammer” canvas for content creators, and experience seekers.

The metal mesh design of the GRiD shopping center is quite industrial style, shaping the architectural form with the appearance of slot machines, and using the first prize GRiD as the architectural logo. The staggered design of the logo also draws inspiration from the rolling of slot machines. The lighting designer combines the appearance of the building to express its form in the form of colored lines, paying tribute to the past neon era.

Architects use bright colors and bold combinations to make GRiD stand out among surrounding buildings. Lighting designers use large areas of neon lights and highly industrial style lighting designs to add a lot of vitality to this dull neighborhood.

At each entrance of GRiD, there is a scent of post industrial aesthetics. Neon lights outline super large practical graphics, bringing external energy into the internal space. The graphic theme guides users to gather around the building, from the street to the basement, and then through escalator gaps and elevator lobbies, to reach the restaurants, shops, and educational park located on the upper floor of the building.
Near the School of Arts (SOTA), architects have created a double decker entrance where pedestrian traffic can reach underground through stairs. The stairs provide more display areas for the store, while also having social attributes. Lighting designers design with the concept of a stage, where people can watch programs on screen or perform live.
The bathroom, a practical space, has been designed as a social space for occasional meetings, casual conversations, and image building, while resting between shopping, education, or work. In terms of lighting design, the combination of mining shaped fixtures and bare roofs, as well as the arrangement of exposed light tubes above the washbasin, provide basic lighting, continuing the overall industrial style design approach.

The post industrial wash basin customized for social restrooms, various abstract graphics, and bathroom compartments designed as "photo booths" background are excellent photo check-in points where next-generation bloggers can fully showcase themselves.
The GRiD is a great example of a dynamic renovation of existing buildings through social attributes, increased accessibility, and expanded community relevance, rather than large-scale demolition and reconstruction.
