目前，第一轮评审时间平均为22天，稿件录用后将及时在线发表。
目前，SMAB投稿系统已正式上线，现诚邀系统微生物学与生物制造领域的研究人员踊跃投稿！投稿范围包括但不限于：工业微生物学与发酵工程、合成生物学与代谢工程、工业酶学与生物催化、食品组学与食品生物制造、系统生物学与发酵过程优化控制等。稿件类型包括研究论文(Research article)、综述(Review)和快讯(Short communication)。
