My name is Christina Liang, a 13-year-old eighth grader at Briarcliff Middle School, NY. I’ve been writing songs since I was 8, inspired by stories, movies, and daily emotions. I was very agitated and angry when I saw the thousands of dead tigers laying on the floor, and I imagined how it would feel to be in such a position where you are forced into an industry to suffer and die miserably. This was the main inspiration for the song. The theme I wanted to express was animal cruelty, as sadly poaching and illegal practices on animals extend far beyond exotic species, but birds, cats, chickens, and almost every species imaginable. This piece is a story, told from the point of view of an abducted tiger cub.
