Crossing Art Gallery is proud to present Darryl Westly's solo exhibition, *Home*. This exhibition delves into the concept of "home" through a series of paintings, exploring it not only as a personal journey but also as a symbolic expression of universal human belonging. With masterful painting techniques, Westly intertwines memory and reality, using vibrant colors to portray shared human memories and emotions related to home.

In his works, Westly centers around "home" as a symbol of collective experience, offering a fresh interpretation. 2023年9月，韦斯特利为纽约州完成了他的首件永久性公共艺术作品，位于长岛的新西贝里MTA长岛铁路车站。这件名为《启示》的委托作品，以动感的象征手法，反映了西贝里的人物与景致，并将玻璃、金属、光影作为平等的构成元素，创造了记忆的象征与瞬间思索的环境。

达里尔·韦斯特利出生并成长于伊利诺伊州芝加哥，2014年获得库珀联盟的艺术学士学位。2023年3月，韦斯特利参加了长岛的萨格港教堂绘画强化驻留项目。他的个展包括纽约1969画廊的《延迟的梦》（2021）以及洛杉矶ParisTexasLA画廊的《内外之间》（2019）。群展包括纽约詹姆斯·科恩画廊的《阿卡迪亚与别处》（2024）、洛杉矶The Hole画廊的《男体造景》（2022）以及芝加哥Kavi Gupta画廊的《肌肤与面具》（2022）。韦斯特利的作品曾参与Kasmin画廊为“Artistic Noise”举办的慈善拍卖（2023）以及新加坡Cuturi画廊在香港Art Central的展览（2020）。他曾被《采访》杂志、《Juxtapoz》、《Whitewall》、《Artnet》、《Surface》、《The Brooklyn Rail》、《Artsy》和《Office》杂志等刊物报道。韦斯特利目前生活并工作于纽约。

In September of 2023, Westly completed his first permanent public artwork for the State of New York for the new Westbury MTA LIRR station on Long Island. Titled ‘Illuminations,’ Westly’s commission is a dynamic, allegorical reflection of the people and places of Westbury that employs glass, metal, light, and shadow as equal counterparts, creating symbols of remembrance and an environment for transitory contemplation. 

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Darryl Westly received his BFA from the Cooper Union in 2014. In March of 2023, Westly attended The Church Sag Harbor Painting Intensive residency on Long Island. Solo presentations include A Dream Deferred at 1969 Gallery, NY (2021), Interior/Exterior at ParisTexasLA Gallery, LA (2019). Group exhibitions include Arcadia and Elsewhere at James Cohan Gallery, NY (2024), Manscaping at The Hole, LA (2022), and Skin + Masks at Kavi Gupta, Chicago (2022). Westly’s work has been featured as part of Kasmin Gallery’s Benefit Auction for Artistic Noise (2023), and Art Central Hong Kong with Cuturi Gallery in Singapore (2020). Select publications include Interview, Juxtapoz, Whitewall, Artnet, Surface Magazine, The Brooklyn Rail, Artsy, and Office Magazine. Westly lives and works in New York, New York.
