quench，读作/kwentʃ/，作动词意思是“to drink so that you no longer feel thirsty 解（渴）；止（渴）”，如~your thirst，与slake同义，例如：
eg:You can also enjoy snacks and fast foods as well asquench your thirst for cocktails and drinks at Aiyara Pool.您可以享用点心和快餐，Aiyara Pool旁提供鸡尾酒饮料和解渴饮料。
还可以表示“to stop a fire from burning 扑灭；熄”，较为正式，与extinguish同义，例如：
eg:However much water cannot quench my dryness love to you.即使再多的水也无法熄灭我对你爱的渴求。
eg:Afire is quickly trodden out, which, being suffered, rivers cannotquench.星星之火一旦燎原，则江河之水难扑灭。
