November 25 marks the global initiative known as "Orange the World Day," a day dedicated to raising awareness about the ongoing issue of violence against women and girls. This significant date launches a 16-day campaign leading up to International Human Rights Day on December 10, highlighting the need for collective action to end gender-based violence.
比利时通过积极参与各种宣传活动，重申其对这一事业的承诺。在使馆，工作人员身着橙色衬衫、打着橙色领带、系着橙色围巾，以示声援。这种鲜艳的颜色象征着希望和对一个没有暴力的世界的共同愿望。为了进一步强调这一承诺，大家在拍照时手持使馆花园里的新鲜柿子，将水果的橙色与今天的主题联系在一起。在中国文化中，柿子象征着事事如意，反映了我们对每个人都能在安全和有尊严的环境中茁壮成长的的希望。
Belgium reaffirms its commitment to this cause by actively participating in various awareness-raising activities. At our Embassy, staff members prominently displayed their solidarity by wearing orange shirts, ties, and scarves. This bright color symbolizes hope and the collective aspiration for a world free from violence. To further emphasize this commitment, the embassy team held fresh persimmons from our embassy garden during a photo opportunity, linking the fruit's orange hue with the day's message. In Chinese culture, persimmons (柿) symbolize good fortune as one wishes(事事如意), reflecting the hope for a future where everyone can thrive in safety and dignity.
比利时政府在推动旨在打击家庭暴力、促进性别平等和支持幸存者的政策和倡议方面发挥了重要作用。通过参与国际事务，比利时不仅在国内解决了这些关键问题，还与全球伙伴合作，共同打击暴力行为。
