Roles:
Conduct tutorials and assist with marking for student projects (undergraduate/postgraduate level)
Location:
SIP Campus, XJTLU
Working pattern:
Part-time position for Semester 2 (13 weeks), February to June 2025
Honorarium:
2,000 RMB per session (approximately one 4-hour session per week)
Travel expenses:
100 RMB per session (Suzhou residents), 200 RMB (others)
Essential qualifications:
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Building Engineering or a related field, teaching experience in higher education, and fluent in English.
Terms and conditions:
Mainland Chinese citizens preferred; expats and Chinese from HK, Taiwan, or Macao require valid working and resident permits

ABOUT YOU
Your application will be thoroughly evaluated by our module leaders, who will select candidates for interviews and potential collaboration in teaching during Semester 2 of the academic year 2024-25. Please ensure that your application highlights your practical experience, teaching expertise, and the subjects you expect to teach.
Successful applicants will assist in delivering tutorials and guiding students on their projects within the Civil Engineering programme. We particularly welcome candidates who can support tutorials in:
• Hydraulic Design (Urban Stormwater Drainage)
• Façade Design (Theory and Tutorials)
• Building Engineering
You will collaborate with the respective module leaders to deliver tutorials for each subject stream.
ABOUT US
The Civil Engineering programs are accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (UK) and are conducted entirely in English, enabling graduates to attain recognition as chartered engineers worldwide. We offer hands-on experience through site visits, fieldwork, workshops led by industry professionals, lab experiments, and the use of computer analysis software and the latest technologies for module delivery in the department.
