自2022年首次亮相以来，FV9系列已经成功迎来了第三个年头。前两季的FV9系列都是浑浊型IPA，然而2024年我们决定来点新花样，换个风格——西海岸IPA隆重登场！准备好迎接新一波的啤酒风味吧！

Since its debut in 2022, the FV9 series has successfully entered its third year. The previous two seasons of the FV9 series were all hazy IPAs, but in 2024, we've decided to try something new with a different style—introducing the West Coast IPA! Get ready for a new wave of beer flavors!

Introduction to the FV9 Fermenter Series

FV9发酵罐系列是由美西推出的一系列精酿啤酒实验项目。这个系列以厂内最小的发酵罐——FV9命名，它自2016年酒厂成立以来一直伴随着酒厂的成长。FV9系列的诞生，源于我们对酿造更优质IPA的追求，以及对酒花世界的持续探索，这不仅是对酒花的深入研究，也是对精酿啤酒工艺的大胆创新。

The FV9 fermenter series is an experimental craft beer project launched by Wild West. Named after the smallest fermenter in the brewery—FV9, which has accompanied the brewery's growth since its establishment in 2016. The birth of the FV9 series stems from our pursuit of brewing superior IPAs and continuous exploration of the world of hops. This not only represents an in-depth study of hops but also bold innovation in craft beer brewing.

2022年是FV9的第一季，围绕酿酒师Scott穿梭在酒花宇宙，造访不同星球的冒险故事展开，用不同“星球”的酒花打造了4款浑浊型IPA。

2022 marked the first season of FV9, centering on brewmaster Scott's adventures in the hop universe, visiting different "planets" and creating four hazy IPAs with their unique hops.

The FV9 of 2022 featured four beers, each corresponding to a different hop combination:

1. 探索爱达荷（酒花：爱达荷7号、爱达荷宝石）

Exploring Idaho (Hops: Idaho 7, Idaho Gem)

2. 决战墨西哥（酒花：扎帕、撒布洛、塔卢斯）

Battle of the New mexico (Hops: Zappa, Sabro, Talus)

3. 和平使者（酒花：西楚、地层、维密、银河）

Peace Maker (Hops: Citra, Strata, Vic-Secret, Galaxy)

4. 酒花神之礼赞（酒花：哥伦布、卡斯卡特、世纪、奇努克、西楚）

Praise the C-hops (Hops: Columbus, Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, Citra)

2023年，FV9第二季大干一场，采用新奇的啤酒花和酒花组合酿造了四款双倍浑浊IPA。

In 2023, the second season of FV9 took a big leap by brewing four double hazy IPAs with novel hops and hop combinations.

The FV9 of 2023 featured four beers, each corresponding to a different hop combination:

1. 花神（酒花：尼尔森苏维、蜜桃、超级得力）

Flower Power (Hops: Nelson Sauvin, Nectaron, Superdelic)

2. 野人（酒花：马赛克、地层、尼尔森苏维）

Dank in the Tank (Hops: Mosaic, Strata, Nelson Sauvin)

3. 双雄（酒花：西楚、蜜桃）

A Nice Pair (Hops: Citra, Nectaron)

4. 爆糖（酒花：埃尔德拉多、爱达荷宝石、超级得力）

Welcome to S-Hops! In the IPA world, C-Hops (Citra, Cascade, Centennial, Chinook etc.) are very well known. We decided to pick another letter and build a beer around that. “S” was the logical choice because we love Simcoe hops! In addition to Simcoe, we decided on Strata and Superdelic! Simcoe and Strata are famous for their piney, fruity and danky flavors. We added Superdelic to bring a touch of that fruity, candy, modern hop flavor.

This is a strong single IPA at 7.3% ABV. The beer is dry and crisp with moderate bitterness of 61 IBU. Enjoy part one of our journey to The West!

2024年，美西的FV9系列将开启西部大冒险！之前的两季FV9都是浑浊IPA，我们做得还不错！然而，2024年我们决定暂别浑浊风，探索一下西海岸IPA能释放出怎样的酒花强度！西海岸风格的酒花表现与浑浊IPA大不相同，不再是浑浊、甜美、多汁和水果味，而是清澈、干爽、芳香，并带有淡淡的水果味和更明显的酒花苦味。

For 2024, Wild West’s FV9 series goes West! The 2 previous FV9 seasons were hazy IPA’s, and we made some great ones!

We decided for 2024 it was time for a hazy break and that we would investigate what kind of hop intensity we can squeeze out of West Coast IPA’s!

In the West Coast style, hop expression is very different than in Hazy IPA. Instead of hazy, sweet, juicy and fruity, the West Coast style is clear, dry and aromatic with a light fruitiness and more pronounced hop bitterness.

Modern West Coast IPA’s have made a resurgence in the USA recently. Brewers have learned tricks from hazy IPA brewing and have implemented some of these techniques into the modern West Coast processes. As a result, West Coast IPAs are better than ever before! Modern West Coast IPA’s are lighter in color, more fruity and less bitter than original West Coast IPA. However, a few things remain the same! These are still clear beers that are dry, crisp and loaded with aroma and flavor.

Label Design

新一季的FV9系列，用了三款名字S开头的酒花来做搭配，所以都可简称为S-Hops。“S”会让我们很容易联想到超人胸前的那个S标志，而这次的视觉创作灵感也来自于此，S-Hops就是超级酒花！"超级酒花"这个名字，把这些S开头的酒花和超级英雄的概念结合在一起，一语双关。

The new season of the FV9 series uses three hops that all start with the letter "S," so they are collectively referred to as S-Hops. The "S" easily reminds us of the iconic "S" on Superman's chest, which inspired this visual creation—S-Hops, or Super Hops! The name "Super Hops" cleverly combines these S-hops with the concept of superheroes, creating a pun.

看习惯了穿超人服的人类形象，这次我们让充满力量的酒花人也超人化。有别于往季FV9都是以浑浊IPA为基础，这次的基酒风格是西海岸IPA。西海岸IPA可算是美式啤酒风格中经典中的经典，所以在画风和配色上，我们也希望表达出一些美式经典文化的感觉。配合酒花超人的形象，我们最终将酒标像美式复古漫画的封面那样来表现。

Instead of the usual human figure in a Superman suit, this time we have super-powered hop characters. Unlike previous FV9 seasons that were based on hazy IPAs, this time the base style is West Coast IPA. West Coast IPA is considered a classic among American beer styles, so we wanted to express some elements of classic American culture in the artwork and color scheme. Matching the hop superhero theme, we designed the labels to resemble vintage American comic book covers.

今年第一款的FV9，也是我们这一季的基调。你们会看到来自啤酒罐上的漫画连载故事，美西将拥有属于自己的漫画英雄！

The first release of this year's FV9 sets the tone for this season. You'll see serialized comic stories on the beer cans, and Wild West will have its own comic heroes!

Fine Work Takes Time

我想谈谈“慢”或“慢生活”。如今一切都在加速，大家都希望以更快的速度完成更多的事情。然而，我认为有些事情需要慢下来，按照自然规律去进行。发酵和创作都有它们自己的自然规律。这些过程需要时间来成熟，因此，我们应该学会放慢脚步，给予这些过程必要的时间和尊重。

I want to talk about "slow" or "slow living." Nowadays, everything is accelerating, and everyone wants to accomplish more in less time. However, I believe some things need to slow down and follow their natural course. Fermentation and creation each have their own natural rhythms. These processes need time to mature, so we should learn to slow down and give them the necessary time and respect.

从我的理解来看，我尊重酿酒师和设计师的工作节奏。如果他们的工作不能按照工业生产的节奏来完成的，我会耐心等待。我相信市场也会耐心等待，期待每一个用心制作的作品，而不是严格的排期和计划。所以，我们通过“慢”积累出来的东西，希望我们的客户和粉丝能够品味出来，并理解其中的用心。

From my understanding, I respect the working pace of brewers and designers. If their work cannot be completed at the industrial production pace, I will patiently wait. I believe the market will also patiently wait, anticipating every carefully crafted product, rather than strict scheduling and planning. So, the things we accumulate through "slow" efforts, we hope our customers and fans can taste and understand the care behind them.

"Wild West can be said to be the earliest domestic craft beer I encountered. The first one I tried was Cloud 9. At first glance, I thought it was from a foreign brewery due to its high-quality label design and the fact that it came in a 500ml can.
