A 20-year-old Pennsylvania woman, Anjela Borisova Urumova, has admitted to fabricating rape and kidnapping allegations, leading to the wrongful imprisonment of an innocent man for 31 days. The shocking confession revealed that she targeted the man solely because she found him "creepy," according to the Bucks County District Attorney's Office.

The case began on April 16 when Urumova claimed she was assaulted outside a Redner’s supermarket. She alleged that a 41-year-old man attacked her from behind, pulled her pants down, slapped her, and left a visible bruise on her face. Based on her accusations, police arrested Daniel Pierson, who was subsequently jailed on multiple felony charges.

However, Urumova’s story began to unravel during the investigation. Prosecutors discovered significant inconsistencies in her account through surveillance footage and a forensic review of her cellphone data. It was later revealed that the bruise on her face and the cut on her lip were not from an attack but caused by an object her grandmother, who suffers from dementia, had thrown at her earlier.

Urumova admitted to police that she had deliberately chosen Pierson as her target after noticing him and his blue Ford F-150 truck in the area. She described him as "creepy" and used this as the basis for her fabricated story, authorities said.

As the investigation progressed, it became evident that the accusations were entirely false. Pierson, who had spent 31 days behind bars, was exonerated after the charges against him were dropped.

“Urumova’s false accusations caused an innocent man to be jailed for over a month on serious felony charges,” prosecutors said.

Last Thursday, Urumova pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including false reports, unsworn falsification to authorities, and fabricating physical evidence. She now faces up to 17 years in prison, with sentencing scheduled for March 21.
