Pasco County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of Jean Cebollero-Arias, 46, on human trafficking charges involving a minor. The arrest came after an investigation triggered by information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Sheriff Chris Nocco revealed during a Tuesday press conference that Cebollero-Arias allegedly shared photos of an elementary school-aged child in his custody through online platforms. According to investigators, the suspect intended to "train" the child for sexual purposes and offered access to other individuals online.
The investigation uncovered connections to multiple jurisdictions, with potential suspects identified in New Jersey, Alabama, Illinois, and the United Kingdom. Law enforcement agencies in these locations have been notified and are conducting their own investigations.
Detectives traced the online communications back to Cebollero-Arias and subsequently arrested him near his residence at a local Publix supermarket. He has been charged with human trafficking of a minor under his custody.
During the press conference, Sheriff Nocco expressed strong condemnation of the alleged crimes, emphasizing the gravity of human trafficking offenses, particularly those involving children. He commended his investigative team for their work in identifying and apprehending the suspect, stating that they had "got the devil off the street" and prevented potential further harm to the child.
The sheriff also delivered a broader message about combating human trafficking, asserting that "good will prevail" in the ongoing fight against such crimes. He emphasized his department's commitment to pursuing and prosecuting individuals involved in trafficking activities.
The case remains under active investigation, with law enforcement continuing to work across jurisdictions to identify and prosecute any additional suspects involved in this network. The information regarding this case was provided by the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
