Bryan Johnson, a 47-year-old American tech entrepreneur-turned-anti-aging enthusiast, has stirred controversy after sharing intimate data about his teenage son’s night-time erections. Known for spending millions on his quest for eternal youth, Johnson has amassed a large following as he documents his extreme efforts to slow the aging process. However, his recent actions have left many questioning his boundaries when it comes to privacy and appropriate parental behavior.

Johnson, who became wealthy after selling his eCommerce payments company Braintree to eBay for $800 million in 2013, has made headlines for his unorthodox approach to health and longevity. His lifestyle overhaul includes a strict diet that cuts off food intake after 11 a.m., blood-plasma donations from his teenage son, and various other experimental treatments aimed at reversing the aging process. His most recent public post, however, has garnered widespread criticism.

On the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Johnson shared detailed results from a “penis contest” he had with his 19-year-old son, Talmage. The post included data on the number of erections, average duration, quality, and overall sleep efficiency for both father and son. Johnson proudly shared that his son's erection duration was two minutes longer than his own, concluding the post with, “Raise children to stand tall, be firm, and be upright.”

The public reaction was swift and largely negative, with many questioning why a father would feel the need to measure and share such private information about his son. Some users expressed concern for Talmage, with one commenter writing, "For the love of God, why would you post this on the internet publicly? I feel bad for your son." Another joked, "I have a feeling this won’t even crack the top 10 most disturbing chapters in your son’s inevitable autobiography."

The post was labeled “weird” and “gross” by many, with others wondering how such data was even obtained. One user quipped, "My iWatch doesn’t tell me this, it must be broken," while another remarked, "I don’t even want to know how you measure this." There was also confusion over the criteria used to evaluate the quality of an erection, with one commenter calling the post “an intimate content about private matters” that shouldn’t be shared publicly.

This isn’t the first time Johnson has faced criticism for his unconventional health experiments. The self-described “biohacker,” who reportedly spends $2 million annually on his health regimen, has previously been criticized for dangerous stunts. One notable incident involved Johnson injecting donor fat into his face in an attempt to restore a more youthful appearance. The procedure went horribly wrong, causing his face to swell, which he later admitted was a painful and embarrassing experience. “I got really lean and lost a lot of fat—especially in my face. My biomarkers were improving, but I looked gaunt,” Johnson wrote on Instagram. “People thought I was on the brink of death.”

Despite the backlash, Johnson’s quest to achieve perfect health continues to captivate some followers and even some medical professionals. Sydney practitioner Dr. Zac Turner has praised Johnson’s take on junk food, stating that it plays a significant role in the development of chronic diseases, including cancer. Dr. Turner also acknowledged that Johnson’s extreme health practices may offer valuable insights into the long-term effects of modern food choices, though he stopped short of endorsing all of Johnson’s methods.

Though Johnson’s methods are often criticized for being too extreme, his determination to explore the limits of human health and longevity has earned him a sizable social media following. His Netflix documentary *Don’t Die* released earlier this month, offers a glimpse into his life as a “professional rejuvenation athlete” on a mission to find the secret to eternal life.

While some may find his experiments inspiring, others feel that Johnson’s obsession with youth and longevity comes at the expense of basic human decency and respect for privacy. Whether or not his future posts will continue to push the boundaries of what is considered acceptable remains to be seen. What is clear is that Bryan Johnson’s quest to defy aging is far from over — but it may come with consequences that even he hasn’t fully anticipated.
