近日,苏州在国际合作方面持续发力。

Suzhou has stepped up efforts to strengthen international cooperation recently.

The InnovFest Suzhou 2024 was held at the National University of Singapore (Suzhou) Research Institute (NUSRI) yesterday. The event is committed to building a key cross-border platform to link China technology companies with innovations overseas, especially innovations from Singapore and beyond.

During the event, the inauguration ceremony of the Suzhou Advanced Research Institute at NUSRI was held. As the first research institute established by a world-class university in an industrial park, NUSRI has incubated more than 100 sci-tech innovation companies, including a number of global unicorn companies, with over 200 patent applications.

A signing ceremony in Taicang, Suzhou yesterday witnessed the establishment of Taicang Rhein-Neckar Innovation Center and the cooperation between Taicang Special Education School and Maria-Montessori-Schule.

Taicang Rhein-Neckar Innovation Center will leverage German sci-tech talent and industry resources, make full use of the role of a world-class urban innovation center, and focus on green economy, digital intelligence, and life health, aiming to support Taicang's industrial development and the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries.

According to the letter of intent between Taicang Special Education School and Maria-Montessori-Schule, the two schools will share knowledge and information in the field of special education, organize regular teacher and student exchanges, and strengthen cooperation in curriculum design and practices, collectively promoting the development of Sino-German special education endeavors.

With an investment of 300 million yuan ($41.48 million), the facility for Thermo King - one of its brands - not only aims to enhance the company's production capacity in China but also to supply products to other countries in the Asia-Pacific region, such as Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and India.

In addition to the existing product lines at its manufacturing base in Suzhou - which include transport temperature control equipment for container ships, refrigerated truck temperature control systems, bus air conditioners and generators - the new factory will introduce production lines for trailer temperature control systems and new independent temperature control systems for trucks and shipping companies.
