近日，苏州基地获亚足联女子足球大会年度青训特别学院奖。
The 3rd Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women's Football Conference took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on November 12. At the conference, the Suzhou Football Center claimed the Youth Academy of the Year (Girls) of AFC Special Elite Youth Awards 2024.
Wang Jianjun, President of the Suzhou Taihu Football Center, attended the awarding ceremony and received the award certificate on-site on behalf of the center. The Suzhou Football Center is the first institution that develops the talents of elite young female footballers in China to receive the award.
In September 2022, Suzhou was recognized as a Key City of National Football Development. In October 2022, the Suzhou Municipal People's Government and the Chinese Football Association (CFA) signed a ten-year agreement to co-build a reserve talent training project. In September 2024, the AFC experts came to Suzhou to inspect the CFA's application to join the AFC Elite Youth Scheme.
The academy, based on the talent pool and training system of CFA Women's Youth Academy-Suzhou as well as Taihu Football Center's support in facilities, pitches, and logistics, has organized multiple domestic and overseas training camps and programs for young female footballers and workshops for coaches. It has witnessed the initial formation of technical and support teams and the routine training of reserve talents in various age groups.
