TV host and prominent entertainer Mickey Huang has been sentenced to eight months in prison for possessing sexually explicit images of minors.

Huang was formally charged with violating the Child and Youth Sexual Exploitation Prevention Act, a serious criminal offense that carries significant legal and social ramifications. The court's verdict includes not only the prison sentence but also mandates a fine of NT$100,000 (approximately USD $3,200). The defendant retains the right to appeal the decision.

The investigation into Huang's criminal activities began as part of a broader probe involving sexual assault allegations. During the initial investigation, prosecutors discovered seven explicit images of underage girls on a hard drive seized from Huang. This initial finding prompted a more extensive examination of his digital records.

By late July, the scope of the investigation had dramatically expanded. Prosecutors uncovered a total of 41 sexually explicit images depicting minors, with some of the victims being as young as 11 years old. The majority of the images featured victims between 15 and 16 years old, an age group particularly vulnerable to sexual exploitation.

Court documents revealed that Huang had been an active member of an online forum called "Chuangyi Sifang" since February 12, 2014. Prosecutors allege that through this platform, he systematically purchased and viewed sexually explicit content involving minors. The documentation suggests that from February 17 of the previous year, Huang began storing these illicit images on an external hard drive.

The case reached its judicial conclusion on October 15, when the court heard closing arguments before announcing the verdict.

Huang, who was once a well-known figure in media and entertainment, now faces severe professional and personal consequences as a result of these criminal actions.
