A Texas man is under investigation after a viral TikTok video appeared to show him using a baby to wipe snow off his car, an act that police say could soon lead to criminal charges.
The 25-year-old man, whose identity has not been released, is currently being investigated by the Port Arthur Police Department. Police Chief Timothy Duriso confirmed that authorities are looking into the incident, which has drawn widespread criticism online.
The vide shows the man holding what appears to be a bundled-up infant and using the child to brush snow off his car windows. While some social media users initially questioned whether the baby was real, Duriso stated that investigators believe the infant is indeed a living child and is less than a year old.
Following the video's circulation, police visited the man’s apartment to check on the baby’s well-being. According to reports, the child appeared to be unharmed, but authorities remain concerned about the incident.
“It’s a sad situation,” Duriso said. “I know a lot of people turn to social media for attention and clicks, but this is not something to joke about. You should never put a baby on a windshield or use them in such a reckless manner.”
Child Protective Services (CPS) has also launched an investigation into the matter, working alongside law enforcement to assess the situation and determine whether further action is necessary to protect the child.
Although no charges have been filed yet, Duriso indicated that the man could face child endangerment charges once the case is handed over to the district attorney. If prosecuted, he could be arrested as early as next week.
The video has sparked intense debate online, with many users condemning the man’s behavior as irresponsible and dangerous. Others have expressed concern over social media trends that encourage risky stunts for the sake of views and engagement.
