HISTORY

TELLING CHINA'S STORIES IN ENGLISH.
People in ancient China use a sun clock, or a sundial, to tell time. The sun clock has a needle and a dial. There are 12 parts on the dial. Each part means two hours. When the sun moves, the shadow of the needle falls on the dial. In this way, the sun clock can work like a watch or a clock. But on cloudy days or at night, it was impossible to tell the time.
