The contest is the Chinese equivalent of the Emmy Awards.This marks the second time she has been crowned a “television queen” at the Golden Eagle Awards, having previously won Best Actress for The Journey of Flower in 2016.

该奖项是中国的艾美奖（Emmy Awards）。这是她继2016年凭借《花千骨》获得“最佳女主角”后再次摘得金鹰奖“视后”的桂冠。

Zhao plays Xu Banxia in the TV series Wild Bloom, which aired in 2022. The character is a woman with vision and strength who overcomes many obstacles in the male-dominated steel industry, carving out a place for herself in the 1990s.

It is the second time Zhao has been named best actress in the Golden Eagle awards.

In accepting the award, Zhao said she wishes she could tell herself 18 years ago to stay firm in her aspirations, to be determined and trust herself. If she could do so, she would find success in the future.

赵丽颖在领奖时说，她希望自己能告诉18年前的自己，要坚定理想，坚定决心，相信自己。如果能做到这些，将来一定会取得成功。

This latest recognition comes from a network that has broadcasted many of Zhao Liying’s dramas, like The Journey of Flower, The Story of Minglan, and Princess Agents, which became massive hits.

Incidentally, her Journey of Flower co-star Li Qin was also a contender for Best Actress this year for her role in Miles to Go. Although only one could win, it made way for sweet interactions between the two.

In a short tribute to Zhao Liying, clips from her past dramas were shown at the awards show, including a moment when she shared how her career was initially hampered by her face shape.

The Chinese actress, known for her round face, said, “For the first seven years, I was always playing supporting roles because they said a round face can’t be the main lead. They thought my image was limited, not magnanimous. At the time, I refused to accept this. In my heart, I quietly made a promise: don’t let me catch my chance, because if I do, I’ll grab it like my life depends on it.”

This truly seems to be the year for the 37-year-old actress as she racks up major acting awards. In addition to her two Golden Eagle Best Actress Awards, Zhao Liying has previously secured a Feitian Best Actress award for Wild Bloom.

Her recent accomplishments aren’t limited to TV dramas; she also won Best Supporting Actress for Article 20 at the 2024 Hundred Flowers Awards.
