Xiamen announces policies to improve its int'l business environment

City officials recently announced a suite of programs designed to improve Xiamen's international business environment. The new policy includes 19 initiatives across five key areas. The program is the second policy designed to improve the local business environment, following an earlier set of measures unveiled in June. The policy runs through 2026.
The newly-announced initiatives focus on aligning with international trade rules, fostering legal coordination and innovation, enhancing connectivity with major transportation hubs, attracting global high-end resources and boosting international scientific and technological innovation to empower industrial growth.
Chinese television awards ceremony kicks off in XM

Xiamen hosted a ceremony for a pair of Chinese television awards last Saturday at the Xiamen Strait Grand Theater. The Flying Apsaras awards are a biannual event for excellence in Chinese television while the Starlight awards honor television writers.
Xiamen upgrades supply chain fund

Xiamen's finance bureau recently announced an expansion for the city's supply chain collaboration fund. The fund is now set at 10 billion yuan. The umbrella fund will coordinate industrial and commercial enterprise sub-funds. Assistance is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Xiamen unveils China's first industrial internet talent development base

Local authorities last week officially inaugurated the area's industrial internet talent development base, which is the first of its kind in China. The Huli district founded the base with the China Academy of Industrial Internet (CAII), the local human resources and social security bureau and Xiamen's industry and IT bureau.
The base is operated by Huli's state-owned assets investment group and by CAII. Employees are deemed industrial internet talents if they possess expertise in the information and communication technologies coupled with specialized knowledge or skills in the industrial sector.
XM International Automobile Exhibition set to kick into gear

This year's Xiamen International Automobile Exhibition is set to start on November 8 at the Xiamen International Exhibition Center. The four-day exhibition will cover the entirety of C Hall. The auto exhibit launched in 2003.
Activities during the event include the opportunity to test drive a number of models on display. Exhibition officials said that the event will help boost local consumption as the end of the year approaches.
Xiamen launches art exhibition by seniors and retirees

Xiamen launched last week an exhibition dedicated to the artwork of retired government officials and members of Xiamen Senior Citizen University. The exhibition is on display at the newly-built multimedia exhibition hall of Xiamen Senior Citizen University. The artwork includes poems, paintings and videos. The exhibition is the first exhibit for the new multimedia hall. The exhibition runs through October 18.
Xiamen offers up to one-million-yuan subsidy for cruise lines

A trio of local government agencies recently announced a suite of measures intended to promote the development of the local cruise tourism industry. The coalition of agencies include the local port authority, the culture and tourism bureau and the local finance bureau.
Participating companies are eligible for annual rewards of up to one million yuan. Eligible firms include cruise lines, charter companies and other entities engaged in the cruise tourism business. Rewards are available based on the classification of departure port routes as well as by port visit routes. The measures run through 2027.
Gulangyu Art Piano Week set to launch next week

The annual Gulangyu Art Piano Week kicks off next Monday with an opening concert on Gulangyu. The weeklong event will include more than 50 activities in eight categories such as concerts, piano and pipe organ concerts. The opening concert will include artists such as pianists Deng Taishan, Michelle Dalberto and Sofya Gulyak as well as organist Lin Shaobin.

Local authority announced last week that national military accepted a total of 300 local youth into its annual basic training program this summer. After several weeks of training, the new recruits will be assigned to positions across China.
