张召实验室位于德克萨斯大学西南医学中心（UT Southwestern Medical Center）的宿主防御遗传学中心（Center for the Genetics of Host Defense）。该中心由诺贝尔奖得主Bruce Beutler博士创立，并拥有全球最大的小鼠正向遗传学诱变筛选平台。实验室的研究聚焦于代谢类疾病的分子机制，目标是将这些机制转化为疾病治疗策略。实验室已经筛选了超过一半的小鼠基因组，鉴定出数十种与肥胖、糖尿病、脂肪肝相关的新突变小鼠，并深入研究其分子机制。研究内容主要涉及功能未知的新基因及新型代谢表型，探索传统代谢研究所未覆盖的领域。自实验室成立四年来，已在以下国际学术期刊上发表多篇研究论文，包括：PNAS（PMID: 32381739）、Nature Communications （PMID: 35842425）、Cell Metabolism（PMID: 36228616）、Trends in Cell Biology（PMID: 37336658）、The Journal of Clinical Investigation（PMID: 39137039）、Cell Death and Differentiation（PMID: 39562829）。实验室的研究经费来源于美国国立卫生研究院（R00，R01，R21）和西南医学中心。目前，实验室正在招聘博士后研究员，欢迎已获得或即将获得博士学位的同学加入我们的团队。更多详情请访问实验室网站（https://labs.utsouthwestern.edu/zhang-zhao-lab）或参阅以下英文招聘信息。Postdoctoral Position in Molecular Mechanisms of Metabolic DiseasesA postdoctoral training position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Zhao Zhang, in the Center for the Genetics of Host Defense at UT Southwestern Medical Center to study molecular mechanisms of metabolic diseases.The Zhang laboratory combines a unique mouse forward genetic screening approach with biochemistry and molecular biology to identify new regulators of major metabolic diseases, including obesity, diabetes, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). Since the lab’s establishment in 2020, our work has led to publications in prestigious journals including PNAS, Nature Communications, Cell Metabolism, Trends in Cell Biology, The Journal of Clinical Investigation, and Cell Death and Differentiation. Our laboratory has several exciting projects related to: 1) The dynamic regulation of a newly identified E3 ubiquitin ligase in insulin signaling. 2) The role of several new genes in the regulation of obesity. 3) The mechanism of several new genes in the pathogenesis of MASLD. The research in our laboratory is funded by CGHD and several NIH grants (R00, R01, R21).Candidates must hold a recent Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree.
