Beijing's statistics authorities released the city's economic data for the period from January to October, demonstrating a generally stable economic performance. In the first 10 months of 2024, Beijing's industrial output increased by 6.5% year on year. Among key industries, the manufacturing of computers, communications, and other electronic equipment grew by 20.7%. 

近日，北京市统计局、国家统计局北京调查总队发布北京前10月经济数据。工业成为今年北京经济中的一抹亮色。1月至10月，全市规模以上工业增加值按可比价格计算，同比增长6.5%。重点行业中，计算机、通信和其他电子设备制造业增长20.7%。

The Beijing science and technology award conference was held, with 19 scientists and 196 projects receiving awards. Over 60% of the winners are young people under the age of 45.

Beijing has released the Emergency Plan for Incidents in Beijing Rail Transit Operation. The newly revised plan applies to situations that occur during the operation of urban rail transit, such as train collisions, derailments, facility and equipment malfunctions, damage, passenger overcrowding, severe weather, large-scale power outages as well as safety zone incidents.

北京市交通委正式发布《北京市轨道交通运营突发事件应急预案》。新修订的《预案》适用于城市轨道交通运营过程中发生的因列车撞击、脱轨，设施设备故障、损毁，大客流冲击、恶劣天气、大面积停电、安全保护区事件等情况。

Beijing will eliminate the distinction between ordinary and non-ordinary housing in an effort to reduce taxes on transactions related to larger houses. Non-ordinary properties that have been owned for two years or more will be exempted from a 5% value-added tax (VAT) during transactions, which means they will enjoy the same tax exemption as ordinary homes, according to a notice issued on Monday by the city government. The removal of the distinction will take effect on Dec. 1.

近日，北京市住房城乡建设委、市财政局、市税务局等三部门联合印发《关于取消普通住房标准有关事项的通知》。《通知》显示，北京市取消普通住房和非普通住房标准，同时，对增值税和契税进行优惠。这意味着，北京住房交易税费将进一步降低。个人将购买两年以上（含2年）的住房对外销售的，免征增值税；个人将购买不足2年的住房对外销售的，按照5%的征收率全额缴纳增值税，新政于今年12月1日起施行。

The opening ceremony of an exhibition titled Greeks - From Agamemnon to Alexandria was held at the Capital Museum in Beijing on November 20. The exhibition brings together 270 collections from 14 museums and cultural institutions in Greece, including the National Archaeological Museum of Greece and the Thessaloniki Archaeological Museum. The exhibition will be open to the public from Nov 21 until May 18, 2025.

The China National Milu Conservation and Research Center was officially established in Beijing. It will coordinate the scientific protection and management work of deer populations nationwide. The Milu became extinct in China in the early 20th century. Since 1985, China has introduced 77 animals from abroad. Through measures such as artificial breeding and wild release, the current population of Milu in China now exceeds 10,000.

麋鹿国家保护研究中心11月19日在北京正式挂牌，将统筹推进全国麋鹿等鹿类动物种群科学保护管理。麋鹿曾在20世纪初在我国灭绝。自1985年起，我国分批从国外引入77只麋鹿。通过人工繁育、野化放归等措施，当前全国麋鹿种群数量超过1万只。
