喜报 | 华茂学子全球经济学奥林匹克摘多奖，闪耀IEO初选轮

2024全球经济学奥林匹克IEO初选轮的成绩揭晓，华茂IB初高中的的学子们荣耀加冕，初次参赛就收获多个奖项，展现了我校学子扎实的经济学科素养和出色的创新思维！他们通过对经济理论的深入学习和实际案例的分析，展示了对于经济学原理的深刻理解和实际应用能力。

The results of the 2024 International Economics Olympiad (IEO) Preliminary Round have been announced, and the students from Huamao IBMYP and IBDP have been crowned with honors. They won multiple awards in their debut participation, demonstrating the solid economic discipline foundation and outstanding innovative thinking of our students. Through in-depth study of economic theories and analysis of practical cases, they showcased a profound understanding of economic principles and practical application abilities.

此次IEO初选轮分为高中组和初中组，即初高中学生皆可参赛。最终，高中组共荣获1个全国二等奖，2个全国三等奖和3个优秀奖！其中，全国二等奖的获得者为来自IBDP（国际高中文凭课程）10年级的许一伊同学，而10年级的胡宇轩和11年级的汪芷卉同学则荣获了全国三等奖，以及3名10年级同学傅有、王金熠和严承俊收获优秀奖！初中组方面则收获了1个全国一等奖、6个优秀奖和学校团体铜奖！其中，来自IBMYP（初中双语B）9年级的李梦洁同学成功斩获全国一等奖，另有7年级和8年级的6名同学陈芷菡、杨芊逸、应嘉骏、袁畅、张安好和周宇琦收获优秀奖！同时，以上获奖的13名同学均顺利晋级IEO中国区决战！祝贺所有获奖的同学们！对于华茂学子来说，这些奖项不仅是对他们过去努力的认可，更是对未来发展的激励。

The IEO Preliminary Round was divided into Senior Division and Junior Division, allowing both middle and high school students to participate. In the Senior Division, our students won 1 National Distinction Award, 2 National Outstanding Awards, and 3 National Credit Awards! Among them, Eva Xu, who was from Y10 of IBDP, won the National Distinction Award, while Bobby Hu from Y10 and Annie Wang from Y11, both won the National Outstanding Award. Additionally, three Y10 students, Rich Fu, James Wang, and Charles Yan got National Credit Award! In the Junior Division, we achieved 1 National High Distinction Award, 6 National Credit Awards, and one School Bronze Award! Maggie Li, a Y9 student from IBMYP, won the National High Distinction Award, and six students from Y7 and Y8, Tina Chen, Elsa Yang, Eagle Ying, Tim Yuan, Evelsa Zhang, and Yuki Shah, received National Outstanding Award！All 13 of the above-mentioned award-winning students have successfully advanced to the IEO National Round! Congratulations to them! For Huamao students, these awards not only recognize their past efforts but also serve as an incentive for their future development.

全球经济学奥林匹克（International Economic Olympiad, 简称IEO）由国际奥林匹克学院和捷克经济教育学会主办，是唯一获得国际奥委会官方机构支持的全球中学生经济学活动，也是继国际数学、物理、化学、生物、信息学、科学奥林匹克之后，全球最具影响力的学科类奥林匹克。IEO旨在促进经济学相关的教育，锻炼学生的逻辑思维、问题解决和批判性思维能力，激发学生对经济学专业的学术和职业发展兴趣。因为其难度适中，并能激发学生经济学的学习兴趣和促进课内教学，加上获得国际奥委会官方机构支持，该项学科奥林匹克近年来风靡全球，越来越多国家开始组织参加。

The International Economic Olympiad (IEO), hosted by the International Olympiad Academy and Institute of Economic Education, is the only global economics event for high school students that has the official support of the International Olympic Committee. It is also the most influential subject-based Olympiad after the International Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, and Science Olympiads. The IEO aims to promote economics-related education, train students' logical thinking, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, and stimulate their interest in academic and career development in economics. Due to its moderate difficulty, its ability to inspire students' interest in economics and enhance in-class teaching, as well as the official support of the International Olympic Committee, this subject-based Olympiad has become increasingly popular worldwide in recent years, with more and more countries beginning to organize participation.

很荣幸能在此次的IEO全球经济学奥林匹克初选轮获得二等奖。这是我第一次参加经济竞赛，我尝试将这个学期在经济课上学到的知识与竞赛中的实际问题相结合。这让我获得了很多宝贵的经验。我由衷地感谢经济老师Mr. Ben的教学。他幽默的教学风格使我对许多知识点记忆深刻，为这次参赛提供了很大的帮助。我以后会继续深入学习经济学，希望未来能更好地理解和应用经济学原理，拿到更优秀的奖项！

I am honored to have won the second prize in the preliminary round of the IEO Global Economics Olympiad. This was my first time participating in an economics competition, where I attempted to apply the knowledge that we have learned in economics class this semester to real-world problems in the competition. This experience is very valuable to me. Thanks to my economics teacher, Mr. Ben. His engaging and humorous teaching style has helped me gain a deeper understanding of the concepts. I will continue to study economics and hope to better understand the concepts and apply them in real life.

Hello everyone, I’m Maggie from Y9A, who won the National High Distinction in the IEO competition. This award means a lot to me, as this is my first time participating in an economics competition. Looking back at the preparation process, I faced many challenges and difficulties, but also experienced tremendous growth and learning. I would especially like to thank my instructor Mr. Bambang for his help in helping me better understanding the question type. Finally, I would like to encourage everyone to actively participate in competitions, maybe you can get unexpected surprises!
