In 2023, 24.5% of the EU’s gross final energy consumption came from renewable sources, up by 1.4 percentage points compared with 2022. However, this share is still 18 percentage points short of the 2030 target (42.5%), requiring an average annual increase of 2.6 percentage points from 2024 to 2030.
