苏州轨道交通7号线开通在即，将与4号线支线贯通运营。
As October is drawing to a close, Suzhou Rail Transit Line 7 is getting closer to its opening.
With a total length of 29.6 km and 25 stations, Line 7 runs between Moyang Station莫阳[地铁站] in Xiangcheng District and Hongzhuang Station红庄[地铁站] in Wuzhong District (excluded), connecting the northern and southern parts of the city. Upon completion, the line will merge with the existing branch line of Line 4, bringing the total length to 40.4 km and the number of stations to 33. Line 7 also offers direct access to Suzhou North Railway Station and interchange to Lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8.
The branch line of Line 4 split from the main line on the night of October 10 and is ready to be connected to Line 7.
The former branch line has begun updating the information and instructions at its eight stations. On Tuesday the broadcasts on the trains and at the platforms were updated, with the destination for trains departing from Muli木里[地铁站] changed from Hongzhuang to Changlou常楼[地铁站]. Floor stickers indicating the direction to Line 7 have been added at Hongzhuang Station and the information screens at the eight stations have changed the background color from blue to purple (blue is the color of Line 4 and purple is the color of Line 7).
Though the broadcast has changed, the actual terminus for trains leaving Muli will remain Hongzhuang until Line 7 officially opens. Those planning to transfer to Line 4 need to get off at Hongzhuang. The section from Fengjinlu to Changlou is not yet operational.
