Has anyone noticed?

We can now choose Suzhou (SZO) as our flight destination and departure point!

In the global air passenger system, Suzhou now has its own geographical coordinates.

                                  —"SZO" is officially online.

In May 2023, the Shanghai Airport Suzhou City Terminal was officially launched. 

This May, the terminal underwent a renewal and upgrade, and it has now been assigned the exclusive "three-letter code"—"SZO," making Suzhou an official "departure" and "arrival" point for international flights.

Suzhou has now become an "origin" and "destination" for international flights. Currently, China Eastern Airlines has taken the lead in launching routes using the "SZO" code, covering international flights operated by China Eastern Airlines/Shanghai Airlines.

In the future, when booking flights, by entering "Suzhou" as the departure/destination, you can search for related connecting flight information.

Using "SZO" as the starting point, you can choose destinations such as Paris, London, Los Angeles, as well as Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. You'll be able to directly search for "air-bus intermodal" products, which depart from the Suzhou City Terminal and connect via Shanghai to your final destination.

Passengers taking these flights must go to the "SZO" departure flight's only "boarding gate"—the Shanghai Airport Suzhou City Terminal. There, they can check in for their international flight, select seats, and check luggage. They will then take a virtual flight (shuttle bus, such as MU1024) to Shanghai Pudong International Airport. Upon arrival, they will go through a designated fast-track security channel at the city terminal before transferring to their subsequent international flights.

Currently, the Shanghai Airport Suzhou City Terminal hosts 12 airlines, including China Eastern Airlines, and has served nearly 65,000 passengers, with over 10,000 pieces of checked luggage. The terminal also offers additional services like currency exchange machines for the convenience of international travelers.
