今天,我们又带着新的一期训练来和大家见面啦!我们知诸英语的训练很值得仔细读。和一般的出题方式有很大的不同,我们不愿意编造虚构故事,也从不自己写语言质量不一定靠谱的短文。我们用的每一篇故事素材都来自最近6个月内的英语主流外刊报道。我们这样做都是为了帮助大家获得优质的语言输入(input)。

On September 14, a 10-year-old girl disappeared from her home in Dubberly, Louisiana, last seen at bedtime in her pajamas. When her family 1.______ her missing the next morning, they feared the worst, as hours passed with no sign of her.

故事大意

2024年9月14日,美国路易斯安那州,一名10岁女孩在家中失踪。小女孩最后一次被见到时穿着“冰雪奇缘”睡衣入睡。第二天早晨,家人发现她不见了,开始焦急地报警并展开搜寻。然而,由于周围是密集的森林,搜救工作异常困难。与此同时,来自阿肯色州的Josh Klober看到新闻后深受触动,决定与妻子一起前往路易斯安那。在获得警方允许后,他迅速利用热成像无人机开始搜索……

答案解析

1. B. discovered

根据语义复现线索,开头段多处出现表示消失含义的词:上文的“disappear”,“last seen”; 下文的“missing”,“no sign of her”, 可知家人此时已经了解孩子已经失踪。

2. A. volunteers
