Tian’anmen Square
For the upcoming National Day, Tian’anmen Square is definitely a great choice to experience Chinese culture.
Tian’anmen Square, which is located in the center of Beijing, was first built in 1417 and named Chengtianmen (the Gate of Heavenly Succession). It was seriously damaged by war at the end of the Ming Dynasty, and was renamed Tiananmen when it was rebuilt under the Qing Dynasty in 1651. In ancient times, especially the Ming and Qing dynasties, Tiananmen was the place where state ceremonies took place. This tradition was inherited by modern people. In 1994, Chairman Mao declared the foundation of the People’s Republic of China, and the subsequent Chinese supreme leaders also watch the National Day Military Parade on Tiananmen Rostrum.
To celebrate the National Day, a large flower basket was constructed in Tiananmen Square. This year, some new vegetables and fruits are added to the design in order to express the good wishes for the prosperity and strength of China. You can schedule a visit on the website in advance.
