Embroidery
Embroidery in China is a traditional handicraft with a history of over 2000 years. It is an art form that uses a needle and colored threads to embroider patterns on textiles. Embroidery has been very important in Chinese history. During the Tang Dynasty, embroidery was closely related to religious art, with many embroidered items such as Buddha statues directly connected to the beliefs of the time. By the Song Dynasty, embroidery was not only used for practical items but also dedicated to embroidery paintings, whose style directly influenced the approach to embroidery. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the scale of court embroidery was vast, and folk embroidery also developed further, giving rise to Suzhou embroidery, Guangdong embroidery, Long embroidery, Xiang embroidery, and Shu embroidery, collectively known as the "Five Great Embroideries"
