On 2nd February, social media sparked concern when a post emerged claiming that a prominent Taiwanese star had passed away suddenly due to influenza, identifying her as a 48-year-old actress known for her role in Meteor Garden. This led many to fear for the well-being of Barbie Hsu.

This morning, Barbie's sister, Dee Hsu confirmed the heartbreaking news through her manager, stating: "Thank you for your concern! During our family trip to Japan for the New Year, my beloved and kind sister, unfortunately left us after suffering from influenza complications. I am grateful to have been her sister, and I will always cherish and remember her. Shan, may you rest well! Speculation about her ex-husband, Wang Xiaofei, also surfaced but remains unverified.此消息宣布后，网络上关于大S去世情况的谣言四起，有说法称她因感冒引发多重健康问题，加上潜在疾病而去世。关于其前夫汪小菲的猜测也浮出水面，但尚未得到证实。Numerous Taiwanese media outlets attempted to confirm the news with family members and close associates, but responses have been sparse.
