Eileen Gu withdraws from 2025 Asian Winter Games with "heavy heart"
Freestyle skier Eileen Gu announced on Weibo on Tuesday (4 February) that she has withdrawn from the Asian Winter Games taking place in Harbin, People's Republic of China from 7-14 February.
周二（2月4日），自由式滑雪运动员谷爱凌在微博上宣布退出2月7日至14日在中华人民共和国哈尔滨举行的亚洲冬季运动会。
"After getting injured at the Aspen X Games, I unfortunately sustained another injury during training in an effort to participate in the subsequent World Cup competitions," said the Chinese-American superstar. "Today, with a heavy heart, I must withdraw from the long-awaited Asian Winter Games in Harbin."
“在阿斯彭极限运动会上受伤后，为了参加随后的世界杯比赛，我不幸在训练中再次受伤，”这位华裔美国超级巨星说。“今天，怀着沉重的心情，我必须退出期待已久的哈尔滨亚冬会。”
此次亚洲冬季运动会将有来自34个参赛国家/地区的1275名运动员参加。作为历史上第一位在一届奥运会上获得三枚奖牌的自由式滑雪运动员，谷爱凌本来也要参与其中。

The double Olympic champion picked up an injury in a fall during the street style competition at the X Games Aspen 2025 in January, forcing her to pull out of the ski halfpipe and ski big air events.
今年1月，在阿斯彭2025极限运动会的街头风格比赛中，这位两届奥运会冠军在摔倒时受伤，迫使她退出了滑雪U型池和大型空中滑雪项目。
Gu, who made history as the first freestyle skier to win three medals at a single Games, was due to be one of six home Olympic gold medallists from Beijing 2022 competing at the ninth edition of the Asian Winter Games, which starts on Friday (7 February), hosting a record number of 1,275 athletes from 34 participating countries/regions.
作为历史上第一位在一届奥运会上获得三枚奖牌的自由式滑雪运动员，谷爱凌将作为北京2022冬奥会的六名本土奥运金牌得主之一参加第九届亚洲冬季运动会，该运动会将于周五（2月7日）开始，届时将有来自34个参赛国家/地区的1275名运动员参加。
1月25日，在美国阿斯彭2025极限运动会上，谷爱凌摔倒受伤。后来，她选择退出滑雪U型池和大型空中滑雪项目，并在社交媒体上写道：“我还好，但由于上次摔倒造成的严重瘀伤，我现在无法行走。”

"I wish the Chinese athletes the best results," Gu said in her Weibo account. "I will also actively cooperate with my doctors for rehabilitation and strive to return to the competition as soon as possible this season."

Gu suffered an injury from a fall during the street style competition on January 25 at the X Games Aspen 2025 in the US. She later opted out of the ski halfpipe and ski big air events, writing on social media that "I'm okay but unable to walk at this point in time due to some really aggressive bruising on that last crash."
