The China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) Chair Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles met with Shenzhen Mayor Qin Weizhong on Friday, 22 November in Shenzhen.

Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles remarked that the strong foundation and vast potential for economic cooperation between the UK and Shenzhen provide significant opportunities. He reiterated CBBC’s commitment to acting as a bridge to help more British businesses and organisations understand and invest in Shenzhen, while also supporting Shenzhen enterprises in further expanding into international markets, thus elevating trade and investment collaboration between the two sides to new heights.
古沛勤爵士表示，英国与深圳经贸合作基础扎实、空间广阔，愿继续发挥“桥梁”作用，推动更多英国企业机构了解深圳、投资深圳，助力更多深圳企业进一步拓展国际市场，推动两地经贸投资合作再上新水平。
Qin Weizhong noted that, over the past 70 years, CBBC has been dedicated to fostering UK-China relations and played a historic role in “Ice Breaking” for bilateral trade. Shenzhen looks forward to deepening economic and trade exchanges with CBBC and welcomes its member companies to invest and establish operations in the city. He also hoped to expand and deepen collaboration in sectors such as renewable energy, technology, finance, and tourism, working together to achieve more mutual benefits and shared success.
覃伟中表示，英中贸易协会成立70年来，始终致力于推动中英关系发展，为两国贸易“破冰”作出了历史贡献。深圳愿同英中贸易协会加强经贸往来，欢迎协会会员企业来深投资兴业，进一步拓展新能源、科技、金融、文化旅游等领域合作广度与深度，携手推动取得更多互利共赢新成果。
CBBC's Chair Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles and Chief Executive Peter Burnett, accompanied by a delegation of member companies, commenced their second visit to China this year on Monday, 18 November. This visit will cover Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Beijing. The programme includes a series of meetings with senior Chinese government officials and events designed to engage with CBBC members and stakeholders across China.
